PROGRESS

At this point,
I saw the world shrinking
Right before my eyes
And I was ready to give up.

At this point,
I came face to face with a boulder
As huge as the planet itself,
Crushing me down to my feet.

At this point,
I heard the voices in my head saying,
what do you want to do now?
As my life became a movie being watched,
I felt lost.

At this point,
I raised my head as I heard the voices
calling unto me,
Coursing through my veins
As the hairs on my skin began to rise,
The road became clear.

I came up with the idea for this peice will I was conclude a previous one, I went back and check the progress of that particular painting and realized that nothing good comes if you give up early or half way to your goal cause it wasn't looking like what you wanted from the start, you just hahe to keep going and BELIECING IN THE PROGRESS.

Firstly I created a rough sketch of the portrait I'm about to paint on the canvas and a rough idea of where the light and shade will fall on.

After restructuring the sketch, I lay in my first layer of color which is the skin tone and also the dark and light on the body with no specific details

Then I blended them into each other and also add my first layer for the lips.

Finally I added more details to the face as well as worked more on the light and dark areas of the face
For the background I just decided to use a similar color to the cap in order to blend them into each other.
