They were both young children when they lost their parents in a terrible accident that left them alone in the world. Despite the loss of their parents, Ayo and Teni found comfort and love in each other, and they became inseparable from that moment on.

As orphans, they had no one to turn to but each other. They had to rely on their own wits and resourcefulness to survive in the harsh world that has left them nothing to help walk through the harshness of the wilderness that the loss of their parents had led them to.

Ayo who is 15 and his sister of 13 years old would go out to the market every day and do odd jobs for the shopkeepers to earn some money. They also learned how to grow crops and take care of animals all in a bid to feed themselves for the day.

Despite all the hardships they faced, they were both very happy because they had each other. The loss of their beloved parents would often cause little Teni to be depressed, but the reassuring words of his big brother always helps to calm her mood and ignite her beautiful smile that seems to compete with the radiance of the sun.

They shared everything, and they were always there for each other when one of them needed support. They laughed and played together, and they were each other's best friend.

One day, while they had just returned from another one of their menial jobs at the market, tragedy struck again. Teni fell ill from the stress caused by the physical strain of their work, and no matter what Ayo did, her condition continued to worsen. Ayo was beside himself with worry and fear for his sister’s life.
“Oh God, what do I do? Please help my sister.”
He stayed by her side day and night, praying for her recovery.

As the days went by, Teni's condition deteriorated, and Ayo knew he had to do something to save her. Rumour has it that a medicine man who lived in a far-off village could cure even the most deadly diseases with his ancient knowledge of herbs. Ayo decided to set out on a journey to find the man and bring him back to save his sister.

The journey to the old man’s village was long and difficult, he encountered a lot of wild animals in his path through the forest and often contemplated turning back home instead of dying out in the forest and leaving his sister all alone, but he persevered and kept on going. He walked for miles through the forest and the rugged terrain and never gave up hope. His only thought was to save his sister and bring her back to health.

As Ayo finally arrived at the village of the medicine man. He pleaded with the wise old man to come and help his sister, as he told him of her dire condition and the urgency of the situation. The medicine man who was 102 years old and well stricken in age, agreed to journey with Ayo through the difficult journey to do all he can to help the little girl. The old man was moved with compassion for Ayo and the pain he must have gone through to reach his village.

They both embarked on the journey in earnest and arrived back at the village, where Teni was barely clinging to life. Her condition had become severe in the few days that Ayo had left her to find the medicine man.
The medicine man worked tirelessly to save her, using his knowledge of traditional medicine to administer herbs of all sorts to heal her body. Ayo watched anxiously as his sister was treated and he prayed and hoped that she would recover.

After several days of fighting for her life and the intense care provided by the old man, Teni began to show signs of improvement. Her fever broke, and she started to regain her strength. Ayo’s happiness could not be contained as he began to notice his sister’s recovery. He thanked the medicine man from the bottom of his heart as tears of joy streamed down his cheeks uncontrollably.

As time passed, Ayo and Teni continued to live their lives together again, free from the tragedy of the past few weeks, sharing the bond of love that had sustained them through all their trials.
They never forgot the kindness of the old medicine man who had saved Teni's life as they constantly visited him to seek his wisdom and present him with some of the money they made from their jobs. He always refused it and instead gave them some of his disease-averting herbs in return.
