Tucacas (Falcon State)
Tucacas is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Falcón state due to its immediate connection with Los Cayos and the Morrocoy National Park.

The history of Tucacas begins with the visit on August 6, 1499 of the Spanish conquerors Alonso de Ojeda, Américo Vespucio and Juan de la Cosa. The town of Tucacas was the seat of the Compañía Bolívar, which managed a train service (the first in Venezuela) that connected it with the copper mines of Boca de Aroa. The area has a variety of areas of exotic natural beauty, which are combined with other elements that have transformed it into a privileged place for vacation and tourist expansion.

Tucacas is, together with Chichiriviche, the door to the islets with crystal clear waters and white sands known as Los Cayos (photos and details in the link). The town of Tucacas is one of the preferred destinations for those who visit the Morrocoy National Park, where the necessary services of lodging, food, shops and boat transfers are found. The town of Tucacas plays an important role as a tourist access route to visit Los Cayos.

Tucacas is a very popular place for vacationers. It has accommodation services such as hotels, motels, resorts and inns. The closest island of Morrocoy can be reached by crossing a bridge that starts from the city's seafront promenade. On the other hand, if what you want is to enter Los Cayos, you should go to the docks where you can rent the daytime transfer to the islets, beaches, mangroves, or other available excursions.

How to get
To get to Tucacas from La Vela de Coro (Falcon) take the Morón-Coro highway on highway 3, turn left towards Marintusa street, until you find the port where a boat will take you to Tucacas. The journey lasts approximately 2 hours.

Venezuela is a mine par excellence. The Caribbean tropic is one of the most visited and with a lot of diversity.
