Digital art is the art of our time, it is the art of the 21st century. In recent years, a new type of digital art has emerged: pixel-art. The biggest supporters of this technique are the nostalgics of 1980s video games, which allows us to understand how this technique takes its cue from the past, even though it is increasingly looking towards the future. This new artistic technique, whose main exponents are the eBoy, reproduces large-scale cityscapes (but not only) from a single pixel. It makes the smallest basic element fundamental, which, assembled with many other pixels, creates an image of great communicative impact. Pixel-art re-proposes a vintage style so much in vogue these days, perhaps this is one of the reasons for its great success.
