Nikon Z6II stress test w/ Abigail!

Late night blog incoming, Hive! I just got back from @caffetto. Working on some cool art projects for a new @eos.detroit venture but in the closing two hours, I dug back in to some recent photography. I’m trying to keep up with the routine of posting daily again. Photography is one of the easier blogs to get on the blockchain for me. The freewrites and introspectives are therapeutic, but do require more thought, time and consideration [believe it or not]. If you like the pinup stuff, you’ll like this!

A few weeks ago, I met with my friend Abigail. I’ve been shooting with her for years. I actually met her by chance at a spot here in Minneapolis called The Tea Garden, long before she was a model. We worked together a few times since then and our collaborations have resulted in some of my most iconic photos of my career. I feel like we can never miss together. She’s since moved to New York City and has done very well for herself. She recently came back to Minneapolis for a three week holiday.

I’d just gotten my new Nikon Z6II camera and Z Mount 35mm lens. I was dying for an excuse to shoot with this camera and see what it could do, so I reached out to Abigail and we found a date that worked. I booked a room at the historic 300 Clifton mansion in Uptown Minneapolis and that would be the backdrop for this session. Abigail needs virtually no direction so we started in the room and made our way in to the halls shooting as we went.

There are so many outstanding shots from this afternoon I don’t know where to start. What I’m sure of is that there will be lots more. I have a shoot coming up at the end of this month here in Minnesota, so I’m looking forward to giving the new hardware a further stress test of its capabilities. So far, one of the best investments I’ve made. I can’t believe how far the mirrorless technology has come. Thanks for reading. I’ll be sharing more shot with Abigail in the coming weeks.
