New dark pinup w/ gothic beauty, Kyrie Koffin!

Good evening, Hiveians! I’m back at @caffetto. @guthrie and I missed our original flight from Philadelphia back to Minneapolis. There was a bad accident on the PA turnpike which delayed us by almost two hours. We got to the counter late enough to be rebooked on a flight this morning at 6:00a.m. I’m on about three hours of sleep but resisting the urge to sleep. I certainly don’t need any help screwing up my schedule. As you can tell with my previous two blogs, I’m a creature of habit. I’m attempting to be responsible with my sleep.

I’m sharing some new work tonight. YES! New work! I’m not shooting that much any more. I mentioned the Strange & Unusual shoot from Pennsylvania, but actual pinup photography is becoming a rare occasion and I take on more work and bigger projects at @facingsofficial. This shoot was with Minnesota goth model, Kyrie Koffin. She and I have talked about shooting together for years. She started following me through @ryanashley and @josh. We always said we’d make it happen, and after 2020, this is the year to manifest.

Kyrie booked a room at this swanky Victorian bed and breakfast in Stillwater, MN. I’ve shot there before and when she described what she had in mind, I forwarded her the booking info. The room was themed around Lewis Carroll, so we included an Alice In Wonderland vibe to the entire shoot. Kyrie is a total bombshell, and she bought an incredible wardrobe selection. Also, interesting note. Kyrie and I share a birthday, so this was also our big Leo energy flex birthday shoot together. Mission accomplished, I think.

I’ll have another set of photos with Kyrie soon. This is one of those shoots I can’t wait to get to and finish. So many gems. It’s just a matter of finding the time with the endless meetings and commitments. I’m going through an obvious change in my identity as an artist and creator. That’s not a bad thing. The path I was on as a traveling photographer was far from sustainable. This is something that I can do for 20 years or more, and it’s an entirely different kind of satisfaction, but I relish pinup shoots along this new journey.
