Season Hunt Challenge - Pumpkins & Halloween.

(Edited)

I have never understood the association with pumpkins and Halloween and wasn't even sure how pumpkins got involved with Halloween until, I read this article about how pumpkins got involved with Halloween and it all comes down to the Irish people, it was all there doing they started this craziness, they use to actually carve creepy faces onto turnips but then found pumpkins were much better suited because of there sizes and later brought this tradition to America, the homeland of pumpkins were the best and biggest pumpkins are grown and it's how these pumpkins became a mass part of Halloween festivities as we see it today. Thanks to the Irish immigrating this chiseling and carving of creepy faces which started on turnips, has now ended up on pumpkins in the homeland pumpkin of America.

But I need to be honest with you, I have really never got into Halloween, carving out creepy faces onto pumpkins or turnips, it's never really been my thing the pumpkin and Halloween, thing here in Australia, is not that big of a deal, well maybe it is but honestly, I have never taken much notice even if it was happening we didn't get kids coming knocking on my door for candies maybe it was because of my huge Bull Terrier dog at the time sending them screaming down the road. 😂

And to tell you the truth the only time, I got involved and caught up with pumpkins and Halloween was when, I was in America of course where else but the homeland of pumpkins. It all started with my cousin's wife who was crazy about Halloween, having kids around how could you not get into the pumpkins and Halloween spirit, her and the kids were the master carvers and did it so well together.

And it didn't stop there the houses got all decorated in spooky colors and pumpkins everywhere and then came out the spooky outfits with the scary painted faces the mom's, dad's, kid's there friend's, hell everyone around the neighborhood, I had never seen so much effort and enthusiasm going into designing pumpkins and marking there selves and kids look creepy this was really fun was a shame us Australian's didn't go as far as these America people do, I really started to like this.

This was amazing to see pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins everywhere, even inside the local pub were we would go and have a afternoon drink and a nice barbecued steak, it was all decked out these pumpkins certainly got around.

The street houses were all dressed up like Christmas lights and decorations only, it wasn't Santa Claus, it was them scary carved out pumpkins with witches and skeletons making all weird scary noises what a sight this was really cool and amazing to see the real spirit of pumpkins and Halloween was here and now, I know how these pumpkins have so much involvement with America's Halloween and it was great to see how much fun these kids were really having with pumpkins and Halloween.

This house down the road from my cousin's house was by far the best he had really gone through some serious work setting this up, it was like going through one of them haunted houses they have in Disneyland adventure park.

And you can definitely see why America is the homeland to pumpkins this is one of the warehouse were we went shopping for our Halloween pumpkins a massive rang of colors and sizes that's a lot of pumpkin soup 😂

Something about Halloween raises my spirit, maybe it’s that Irish connection in my blood. :) Love all those marvellously carved pumpkins. 🎃 On All Hallows’ Eve the doors to the invisible world will open and spirits, good or evil, will roam the earth and may stop for a visit. 👻Best to have some candy ready… they trick or treat?🧛‍♀️😀🎃👻

That's a lot of pumpkins. And all shapes and sizes too. Unfortunately for me pumpkins don't grow where I'm from. We only have squash. But I'm still hopeful I can come up with something. Great post my friend.

I hope that the solution you will find won't cost you your second arm and leg..😂
Really, I should have chosen pumpkin and squash as theme, these are both autumn vegetables, I didn't thought to include sqash and it's my mistake, please, do your post with them 😉

My daughter was quite generous this time. It will only cost me an arm 😂😂😂

I have about wrapped up my post using her artwork but now that you've included squash, I just might take back my arm from her and do the squash post instead 😄😄

Hopefully I still have time to do it. I need to go back to the market and take pictures of squash. We'll see.

Thanks for the consideration and oh boy, I haven't even started yet and there's so much fun and excitement already 🥰🥰🥰

Haha, make as you want then, if your post is finished already and you are satisfied with it, you can go with it, it's up to you ... and it's perfectly ok to have sold important parts of your body if it was worth the fun 🤣

Oh wow..that's a great post on pumpkins on Halloween !😊 didn't know either the origin of this celebration, in France we are not that much into Halloween, the commercial thing almost succeeded a few years ago but it is not something that became important here...
I'm enjoying your participation @kohsamui99 ! thank_you_vache.png

Thank you @barbara-orenya it's the same in our country of Australia it's become less significant, I think it's only in America that they go all the way with Halloween 😱
