Pink Cotton Candy; photographs from a test shoot with Martha.

I think Martha is a true artist. What she does with makeup and color blows my mind every single time. It's why though I'm not much of a beauty photographer, I had to do this test shoot with her. And the results turned out amazing.
We had so much fun shooting this. Although it took some convincing to get it done.

Martha is gifted as a makeup artist; extremely gifted. I came across her Instagram page one time and was stunned. And everyday until our test shoot, I fantasized working on something with her, and we did.

The issue we had was that Martha felt she wasn't a great model, and was a bit camera shy. I thought she was lying though, because her Instagram was littered with face modelling photos of her. She told me she worked 100% of them herself(self portraits).
After few minutes of boosting her morale though we shot these;

Almost one week ago, I shared the monochrome variants as part of my monomad entry. And while I feel those variants were stunning, it didn't show the exact reason why the shoot happen. The shoot happened for colors. And now you've seen them, I hope you like them as much as I do.

I remember your monochrome post previously and loved it - but damn. The color ones are splendid as well! That makeup artist is amazing with that gradient on the forehead.
Also really nice post process on your part - as a landscape photographer, I don't understand how you got such incredible texture in the skin. Would you mind sharing some of your technique?

Also, image two seems to be focused only on the nose? Is that intentional? It seems counter to what I'd expect in a portrait.
