Melan-Green| A tale of rich melanin skin and gelled lights!

In the off time I've gotten this month and the last one, I've spent them working on spontaneous projects. Especially beauty projects. While I haven't really come to terms with shooting beauty portraits, I've grown to like it in recent times.

The reasons for my sudden interest in beauty portraits are; the availability of a creative makeup artist, and beauty projects are quite the easiest to plan and execute. I'm unable to work on major projects because of time and even resources to pull them off. In some other news, my major stylist just relocated, it's been hard to find someone else. So yea, it's officially beauty portraits season.

Ebiye and I created magic the first time, that we did another almost immediately.(Check out the first project with Ebiye). For the second shoot, she had to lower her hair, but it didn't take anything from her beauty and charming smile.

For this second look, I experimented with gelled light, which is something I like, but don't really practice. Shooting with gelled lights bring so much drama to the simplest of photos. Sometimes, gelled lighting in itself is drama. And for this project with Ebiye, it aligned so well.

I used a green gel based on the makeup. It's a color I rarely shoot with. It's mostly blue, red or gold for me. But I've been experimenting with other colors, and it's been an amazing experience.

I can't wait to share other amazing photos I've created recently. But until then, enjoy these ones

Lemme know in the comments section which one's your favorite.
