Como les contaba en mi publicación anterior: A 250 metros del Suelo - Piedra El Peñol, Guatapé, Antioquia, mis amigos y yo pagamos un Tour para ir a visitar este hermoso lugar el sábado, que cuenta con muchos espacios, restaurantes, tiendas de dulces, ventas artesanías y suvenires, entre otras. Pero su principal característica, son los zócalos (figuras temáticas que sobre salen de las paredes como parte de su decoración). Sin embargo, luego les contaré más de esto cuando les muestre en otra publicación el pueblo.

As I told you in my previous publication: [A 250 metros del Suelo - Piedra El Peñol, Guatape, Antioquia](https://peakd. com/hive-148441/@keritroberts/esp-or-eng--a-250-metros-del-suelo-piedra-el-penol-guatape-antioquia-colombia-or-250-meters-from-the-ground-piedra-el-penol-gua), my friends and I paid a tour to visit this beautiful place on Saturday, which has many spaces, restaurants, candy stores, handicraft and souvenir sales, among others. But its main characteristic are the zócalos (thematic figures that come out of the walls as part of its decoration). However, I will tell you more about this when I show you in another publication the town.

Allí estaba yo en el puerto, justo antes de zarpar e iniciar nuestro recorrido por el embalse que actualmente forma parte de la represa de Guatapé. El sol estaba bastante fuerte, era un hermoso día soleado. Ideal para disfrutar de un paseo en Barco. Este servicio de Pasaporte para Barco Rumbero, estaba incluido en los servicios que ofrecía el Tour, así que simplemente la guía nos llevó hasta el puerto y nos indicó las instrucciones para abordar. Teníamos que colocarnos el chaleco salvavidas y buscar un lugar donde sentarnos. Nosotros decidimos subir al último piso.

There I was at the port, just before setting sail and starting our tour of the reservoir that is now part of the Guatapé dam. The sun was quite strong, it was a beautiful sunny day. Ideal to enjoy a boat ride. This service of Passport for Rumbero Boat, was included in the services offered by the Tour, so the guide simply took us to the port and gave us the instructions to board. We had to put on our life jackets and find a place to sit down. We decided to go up to the top floor.

Mi amigo José, quien nos acompañó en este paseo a @esthefanychacin a @evelynchacin y a mí, nos tomó lindas fotos a bordo del Barco. Por lo menos a mí me tomo la foto de portada y esta que ven a continuación. El viento me acariciaba el cabello y el rostro y esto simplemente me hacía sentir feliz. Durante el paseo, el guía del Barco, nos iba contando la historia sobre como inundaron el antiguo pueblo de Guatapé para hacer la represa y como tuvieron que desalojar a todos sus habitantes. Nosotros navegamos sobre el antiguo pueblo.

My friend Jose, who accompanied @esthefanychacin, @evelynchacin and me on this trip, took some nice pictures of us aboard the boat. At least he took the cover photo and the one you see below. The wind was caressing my hair and face and this simply made me feel happy. During the ride, the boat guide was telling us the story of how they flooded the old town of Guatapé to make the dam and how they had to evict all the inhabitants. We sailed over the old town.

El guía nos explicó que el embalse tiene forma de dragón azul, porque cuenta la leyenda que un Monje que vivía en el antiguo pueblo de Guatapé se le apareció la virgen de Chiquinquirá, la patrona de Colombia y esta le anunció al Monje que el Pueblo de Guatapé iba a ser tragado por un dragón azul y que este iba a quedar sumergido por las aguas. Años más tarde, una empresa pública de Medellín firmo un contrato para construir la represa que hoy vemos. Para mí un lugar con mucha historia.

The guide explained to us that the reservoir is shaped like a blue dragon, because legend has it that a monk who lived in the old town of Guatapé, the Virgin of Chinquiquira, the patron saint of Colombia, appeared to him and announced to the monk that the town of Guatapé was going to be swallowed by a blue dragon and that it was going to be submerged by the waters. Years later, a public company from Medellin signed a contract to build the dam that we see today. For me a place with a lot of history.

En las costas del embalse, se encuentran casas emblemáticas e importantes. Existe una casa que sobrevivió la inundación, está actualmente es un museo. También, nos mostraron la casa que construyo Pablo Escobar para su familia, llamada como su hija: Manuela. Esta fue tomada por el Gobierno de Colombia antes de su inauguración. Es por eso que está en ruinas y es custodiada por un vigilante. En la siguiente foto, se observa al fondo esta.

On the shores of the reservoir, there are emblematic and important houses. There is a house that survived the flood, it is now a museum. Also, we were shown the house that Pablo Escobar built for his family, named after his daughter: Manuela. It was taken over by the Colombian government before it was inaugurated. That is why it is in ruins and is guarded by a watchman. In the following photo, you can see it in the background.

Entre las casas más importantes que se encuentran en esta zona, se encuentra la del famoso futbolista Colombiano James Rodríguez, perteneciente a la selección nacional y al Everton Football Club. Y detrás de la casa de James se encuentra la de David Ospina otra futbolista Colombiano y arquero también de la selección nacional de Colombia. Lamentablemente, en este punto ya se había descargado la batería de mi teléfono y no pude tomar las fotos.

Among the most important houses that are in this area, is that of the famous Colombian soccer player James Rodriguez, belonging to the national team and Everton Football Club. And behind James' house is that of David Ospina, another Colombian soccer player and goalkeeper of the Colombian national team. Unfortunately, at this point the battery of my phone had already discharged and I could not take the pictures.

El recorrido en Barco fue bastante divertido, porque estuvo animado por un guía durante todo el paseo. Así que nosotros disfrutamos de conocer la historia y además reírnos con las liricas que hacía el guía. Cuando colocaron salsa, nuestro amigo el Canadiense me invito a bailar (por cierto nuestro amigo Antonio el canadiense nos acompañó a todos nuestros paseos, porque viajaba solo). Yo sé que estábamos haciendo el ridículo, las personas a bordo del barco nos miraban, porque el solo tenía una clase intensiva de salsa de 2 horas que había tomado en Bogotá, sin embargo el intentaba moverse bien. Esto fue gracioso.

The boat tour was quite fun, because it was animated by a guide during the whole tour. So we enjoyed learning the history and laughing with the lyrics of the guide. When they played salsa, our Canadian friend asked me to dance (by the way our friend Antonio the Canadian accompanied us on all our tours, because he was traveling alone). I know we were making fools of ourselves, the people on board the boat were looking at us, because he only had a 2 hour intensive salsa class he had taken in Bogota, yet he was trying to move well. This was funny.

Este paseo estuvo increíble, disfrute mucho cada momento, cada paisaje y las risas con mis amigas cuando hacíamos o veíamos algo gracioso. Espero seguir coleccionando lindos momentos y guardándolos con fotos en el álbum de mi vida. Esto fue todo por hoy, espero que les haya gustado. ¡Nos leemos!

This trip was incredible, I enjoyed every moment, every landscape and the laughs with my friends when we did or saw something funny. I hope to continue collecting beautiful moments and saving them with pictures in the album of my life. That's all for today, I hope you liked it, see you soon!
