Political Tantrum - Big talks and action doesn't go hand in hand

avatar

It feels as if we are all big talkers when it comes to Politics.

cry-gd787c2dad_640.jpg

The same person chanting 'we no go gree ooooo' a minute ago, will cower and suddenly become a vegetable whenever they are enticed with little change.

That's how we know them.

It's written on their face and it runs deep in their blood. I call them the desperate men (both genders inclusive). Their desperation to achieve their shady scheme (whatever it is...) runs deep in their marrows.

When will these set of desperate people ever stand by their words and by the letters written on their placards?

For the record, even if this sounds like a rant, I want to reassure you that I'm not here to rant.

Really, I'm having a good life while reminiscing on the set of incidents that happened during Anambra State's Gubernatorial Election.

Oh! Seems like you don't know about the election.

Well, let's just pretend that you know. If you feel like knowing more details about the election, feel free to knock yourself out HERE There 👈 ~ Google to the rescue 🙆‍♂️

Now that we are all on the same page, I want to remind you of the build-up to this Election.

  • Sit-at-home
  • Killings
  • Destruction of properties
  • Threatening press release
  • Disruption of Campaigns
  • ...Name it!

From the vast knowledge I have about the theories of government, in addition to the practical experience I have about electoral processes, all the things that happened before today's election proves to be a red flag.

You would expect that the election would be disrupted by these same set of extremists, but it's rather funny to see that all those that were plotting to mess things up were easily silenced with banknotes. Not billions, just pennies.

Hehehe...

This isn't bad per se. After all, conducting an election is important and the fact that today passed without massive disruption of the election is also good news. But that's a story for journalists.

My concern in all this is that it was rather too easy to silence those that wanted to disrupt today's election.

If my memories serve me right, methinks they started 6 months ago to plan and execute extreme actions in order to make sure that the election would be nullified.

After all said and done, lives lost, properties destroyed, businesses ruined and whatnot, it turned out that what these extremists ever wanted is money.

That's exactly all it took to shut them up and hold today's election.

Hmmmmmm... Insane!

It really is painful to see the state of politics being run in this country. Im tired for real, and sometimes I wish I could just live without thinking about what ever decisions they make up there but the reality of things is that it's us down here that suffer the most. Can you imagine that lady week I bought GALA for #60, I know it sounds petty to complain but it really shocked me and at that moment I knew we were done for.

I'll read about the election process, even though I know I'll be disgusted before the end.

I'm not surprised, a lot of the people who come out making lots of noise about opposing bad government are still the same people who'll partner with this corrupt politicians, lol, we are at a place that if care isn't taken we'll end up destroying this country and the hopes of the future generations.

I share in your pain my bro

This shows that a whole lot of things are going wrong and we can't depend on just anyone to solve these issues which we currently have on ground.

Both the politicians and those that are presenting themselves as Freedom fighters are actually eating from the same pot. Hehe.

I don't always face the issues we have head on because throwing myself into it comes with a lot of pain.

Let's just believe that the future will be better than our today

Lol... It's a shame. I found myself laughing while my mum was narrating how people were struggling to get Money at several pooling units.

Nigeria? Hehehe... The drama in this part of the world beats a sane mind😂😂

Hahah... Nigeria can be this dramatic. The thrill never ends.

I don't really like when people take such things to heart. It ends up hurting them while these looters go ahead to fill their pocket

Yeah it is crazy how many people will sellout of their values and ideals... but I guess that is what constitutes as character. We can either choose to have them or not and fight for the things we care about or not.

Life is a series of decisions that we must live with/by we can always see and connect the dots looking backwards and as the world moves to a more transparent nature through our voice and personal action is how we can ever hope to accomplish change.

The decisions you make his the thing that defines our character and you also get to live like that decision.

Now, this is why it sounds so funny whenever I see people trying to push blame to another person whenever their decision comes back to bite them.

Good or bad; we've got to live by the outcome of our decisions.

I am a pessimistic supporter of democracy myself and can understand your sentiment here. It is rather unfortunate the state of political affairs, cant even discuss things without people virtue signaling. The logic is completely overlooked to focus on meticulous virtues that serve very little meaningful purpose outside of the emotional recognition of the virtues that are shared.

You see to have alot to say about politics. That's impressive.

When it comes to virtue signalling, people get to do it here with a bunch of ludicrous ulterior motive.

Politics as a whole is a dicey game. Alot is said in front of the camera. Much more are also said behind the scene. Lol

If there is too much corruption, the politician should be in a noose.
