Happiness may not cure the incurable, but it will go a long way

Almost everyone alive could need motivation from time to time.

Of course, being alive is not easy. When you are alive, every day comes as a test. Your relationships, career, drEEm (not kidding), and spirituality will always be put to test. And there is no excuse for not passing that test.

When the going gets tough and it seems as if you are losing grip of yourself, a whole lot of us try to reignite ourselves by consuming motivational content. Be it motivational books, podcasts, videos. There is no limit to it, after all, we've got a whole lot of motivational speakers all over the world. These people will never get tired of leaving us with their motivational content.

Do you care for an inspirational line from an unpopular speaker?

How about this?

When a doctor tells you that you won't live up to 5 months, make him look like a quack by living the remaining part of your life with undiluted happiness.

Now, that sounds poetic.

For the most part, it may be taken as a joke or a cruel remark especially when you are saying this to someone that is already suffering from a sort of illness that is tagged incurable. You know, the cancer patients, those suffering from stroke and all whatnot.

No kidding, a bunch of people suffering from this type of illness pass through rapid physical and mental breakdown knowing fully well that what they are suffering from is highly fatal and can lead to immediate or premature death.

Out of curiosity, I couldn't stop myself from imagining how people would live the rest of their life if they are told by medical experts that they will die in the next 7 days or so.

Remember, this isn't the movies!

I'm saying this because I've seen a lot of plot twists in movies where someone decides to play a hero by risking his life to carry out a mission or punish bad guys. After all, he knows that his days are already numbered.

We've all seen similar stuff and I have to admit that we may never get tired of seeing it. But that's the movies.

Get a grip of yourself and face reality. Will you?

In reality, when 10 people are told that they will die in 7 days, the majority of them will face a fatal mental breakdown and swim in depression. They will lock themselves up and starve themselves. To be blunter, many will end up dying due to starvation or depression or any other secondary factor as a result of their reaction to the information they got from their doctor.

Let's talk about the few that will do something different

Do you remember the motivational line from our unpopular motivational speaker?

When a doctor tells you that you won't live up to 5 months, make him look like a quack by living the remaining part of your life with undiluted happiness.

Yeah, that one.

Truth be told, prescribing HAPPINESS to a cancer patient or someone suffering from a fatal illness would look like the dumbest thing to do. After all, there is no medical study that outrightly speaks about the impact of happiness on the overall well-being of people.

On the other hand, if you've been around people that are in a sickbed, you will notice that those that are more positive minded and willing to defy all odds are the ones that most likely respond to treatment.

It's still a very dicey probability, but I think that happiness is attributable to good physical and mental health. That's why you've got to live your life with undiluted happiness.

I would also like to experiment this in the nearest future.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma

Well said @kenechukwu97. I was going through this and I thought you are a doctor or maybe a motivational speaker.

But the fact is, many people get traumatized when they hear such, the trauma is inevitable, it just happens. The rest of the part is left for the individual to decide.

Hahah... Doctor? I wish. That was a big dream, but Chemistry and co messed with my silly mind so, I jumped ship and started doing Business Admin. Hehe.

Well, I will still go into forensic science when I have what it takes to pursue the course.

The trauma is inevitable, it just happens.

That's it. There is no better way to take the news. Infact, Nobody can be prepared enough to hear that death is an arm stretch away.

It's a creepy world after all.

Well you sure do have a lot of aspirations there. Good luck with those.

It's a creepy world after all.

It sure is dear. You never know what's next. We should all take care of ourselves.

Sometimes its difficult to stay positive in difficult time. But being negative will not solve anything either rather it puts one deeper into depression. So let's chose to stay positive, it heals the heart and soul faster

Positivity works better and it comes with rest of mind. Doing otherwise will make the effort of Medical professionals more futile and leave us to fate.

I guess we all have to stick with being positive minded albeit the difficulty attached to it.

I remember growing up, my mother told me the story of a man who had received news that he had a terminal illness. The way he decided to spend his last few months was by stocking up on funny movies and shows and binge-watching them all. He ended up overcoming his illness. She told me your spirit and your mindset often have much more to do with your physical sickness than people realize, and most people who lose the will to live will often die shortly after.
I'm not sure if the story is genuine or not, but it always stuck with me.
I feel like I would have way more fun with my life knowing my days were numbered shorter than expected haha. Like all of the money in my savings? Let's throw it onto a grand vacation hahahaha!

That is a story that its moral lesson will stick with you for a very long time. I'm glad that I got to read it too.

I've seen alot of scenario where it proves to be rewarding for people to display positive mindset. It beats negativity in all ramification so, why not?

The last days would have to be FUN. Although, I wouldn't wish anyone a terminal illness 😂
