Blog #203: A New Favorite Place To Dine and Hangout
Happy Friday Hivers!
We were both one message away.
The day after we'd visited Sheintan Ridge View, my friend texted me that recently she discovered a new place that is suitable for the people like us who love to relax with nature. I immediately replied her that I am free and we could visit that certain place. She advised me to get ready and will fetch me at my dormitory.
After a while, we travelled for about 10 minutes from the place where I stay to The Henry. The Henry is located in Bantayan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
The place is not that enticing if you look at it from outside. You can only see metal fence and trees. Some people might say that there's nothing special in the place if they don't know what this place can offer.
A wide lawn will appear on your sight as you entered the gate of The Henry. Trees were scattered around. After a few meters of hike, a spacious alfresco dining will immediately caught your attention.
You can find the alfresco dining under the big trees. The sound of crickets will be the most beautiful music you will hear while eating. Do you find the place worth to visit?
Yesterday was my second time to visit the place. My friend texted me asking help about hive. Since she's more comfortable to have a face to face tutorial about hive so we both agreed to go to The Henry.
The place is quite and relaxing, we can definitely focus our mind and attention to hive tutorial, it has less or no distractions around. The reason why my friend suggested the place because she wants a quite place.
There were few restaurants that you can choose at The Henry but my friend and I opted to dine at Cafe Sans Rival. It is a famous cafe here in Dumaguete.
My friend loves coffee but she's not addicted to it. On our first visit here together, she ordered a cup of coffee and chicken salad croissant sandwich. But since I was starving that time, sandwich is not enough for me.
My mind told me that I want to have a heavy meal. I was starving. So instead of having a light meal, I ordered a crispy battered garlic chicken coated with a sweet orange glaze. That was my first time I tasted that certain food from Cafe Sans Rival. And oh boy, the taste was absolutely scrumptious. The taste of the garlic rice mixed with the garlic chicken was delicious. And the half-cooked vegetables made me appreciate more of the food that I had eaten.
On our second visit together that was happened yesterday, we immediately went to the Cafe Sans Rival. Instead of heavy meal, I only ordered a slice of Mango Sans Rival Cake and a glass of their signature iced tea.
I haven't informed by the waiter that their signature iced tea has a little rhum/vodka. My friend and I can really taste it but could not identify which one was mixed. Since I am not used to drink cocktail, I got weak after few minutes of drinking my iced tea. My friend finished it and she also complained that she got weak, she's also not into drinking cocktail. We just both laughed after she shared to me how she feels.
If you'll visit Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental don't forget to include The Henry on your itinerary, it will surely gives you an unforgetable memory. A memory that is truly worth to treasure.
