Celebramos en Venezuela como en muchos países del mundo el día de las madres, es un día que dedicamos para homenajear a nuestras bellas mamitas, con canciones, obsequios y otros detalles, demostrando nuestro amor y agradecimiento, hay quienes consideran esta festividad como un día comercial de igual forma que el día del amor y la amistad, creo que es una excusa innecesaria, si, ciertamente todos los días podemos agradecer y honrar a nuestras madres, existen muchas formas de darles cariño y hacerles saber cuanto valoramos todo el amor incondicional que ellas nos dan, sin embargo tener un día especial dedicado a un ser maravilloso, como esa mujer que pudo dar fruto y traer una vida al mundo significa mucho, siendo necesario asignar este día en el calendario y declararlo como una festividad mundial.

No existe Regalo en el mundo que pueda compensar todo el amor, atención y cuidados de una madre, a ella no le importa cuantas cicatrices o dolores de parto haya tenido, porque hay un motivo mas especial, que es ver por primera vez esos ojitos, que aunque estén cerrados y esa carita sucia y arrugada del llanto, es una nueva luz en su camino es un nuevo motivo de esfuerzo y lucha, es despertarse varias veces en la madrugada sin poder dormir por varios días para amamantar a ese ser que nació de ella, es olvidarse de secarse el cabello, maquillarse, ir de compras, o reunirse con sus amigas, para dedicarse a tiempo completo al cuidado de su hijo, hasta verlo crecer.

Madre eres para mi la mujer perfecta, virtuosa, valiente, incansable, con el sol a puesta tus pies adoloridos y agrietados nunca se han rendido y cada mañana nace en tu tenue rostro una sonrisa y una palabra que alienta mis días, eres divinidad, esplendor y alegría.
