Shots from the sky | This time a bit higher

avatar

It doesnt really matter how often I step into a plane, I don't ever get entirely comfortable as if it was the super vehicle but on the ground. Newton baby...that is why I don't like flying.

But the thing ofcourse is. Omce in the sky and when the sky is calm it is actually some damn beautiful and you can let your thoughts drift away for a bit. And with calm and beautiful I do not mean the thunder and lightning which I see in the distance. Literally hundreds of kilometers of flashes in the dark. That is scary stuff right there.

On to when everything was all still fine. Let's start with the Alps and the way towards there. Central Europe is like one big cloud at the moment and that also comes through with how uncomfortable flying can be sometimes.

The Alps

But here you can see a piece of nature at its finest. The Alps with nearly clear skies and from the North clouds banging against the Alps bit not being able to get over. Typical!

And yay..the first snow in the Alps has fallen which makes it fantastic and beautiful. Here are some random shots of it. I always try and see if I can recognise any mountains but it was a challenging this time.

Usually the shape of a lake helps with finding out where you are. Im guessing this is lake Annecy by its shape

The Mediterranean

After the Alps all of a sudden you have reached the Mediterranean and look how there peaceful this harbour is looking. Makes you want to spend the winter there right?

After passing the Mediterranean sea this was my first glimpse of Africa. Coming over the border of Algeria and Tunesia this is where we enteren land again and quite soon there it was.

The Sahara

Wow what a distance and what a texture in the ground! Crazy to see that the red sand is just blown into repititive pattern. I love it!

But uhhh..does anyone have an idea what these darker circles are? I guess it has to do something with farming? But I would be very curious in the how and what in this one.

And how about all this sand and then one road there in between. This is a whole next level of distances and I like it!

After that it all went a little bit less chill. Turbulence ofcourse from the hot air on the ground and then flying through that. And as mentioned the miles and miles of thunderstorms where I could only hope the pilot would not decide to go through them.

Nehhh this will never end up being my hobby. But as always, the shots from the sky are worth it!

Wow. Those circles are so strange. I have no idea what they are or why they're all so different.

Some wise people told me it has something to do with farmland and the colour defines in which stage the growing proces is.

Boom we learned something this week! :)

Wow! You were lucky to have a clean window on the plane! 😃 I can't remember when I had that luck as they are always dirty and photos suck...
But, on the other side, you did a great job and the photos look gorgeous! Especially when you did different motives from different parts of the world! I have never been in Africa so those shots are definitely my favorites... Nature is amazing!

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!
