Finally something for hayfever that works!!

I have been battling (this sounds like I had cancer or something heavy...well that is not the case...this is just something annoying) hayfever for as long as I was back in Europe again. In the Caribbean days I could just notice how the sea air helped on the pollen staying out of the way.

And also when in Switzerland, I also had way less complaints of the hayfever than here in Holland. I can remember that a couple of years back on the road I used to live in in Eindhoven was one of the most poluted intersections in of the country. With dirty air coming in from the Rührgebiet in Germany and living between a couple of highways, well ... I guess the combination was not really winning.

And the thing with hayfever ofcourse is...it is all not that dramatic and it certainly won't kill ya. But on the other hand the sneezing fest and running nose and eyes starts when the weather is turning more appealing, so it is kind of annoying when those days are not lived to the finest because the sneezing had taken over.

I never stayed home from something because of the hayfever. But actually, sometimes it wouldn't have been a bad thing. So I started trying all kinds of things

Kinesiology Tape

Amazon through my ref link

I went to get some medical tape, which looked medium cool as a starter when the weather is nice (this is taped on the back and on the chest) and also it really messed up the skin with some blisters here and there. The idea behind this kinesiology tape is that because of normal movement the energy meridians get stimulated which would help in the immunity proces.

I tried two sessions of two weeks...Wasn't a fan honestly

Over the counter meds

Amazon through the ref link again

I guess this is different per country on how these meds all works, but in Holland you can buy this kind of stuff at the local drug store with anti histamine as a working element in there. And honestly..it aint cheap and it worked for me only a bit in the small allergies but not when total sneezy season was there.

And I got really calm and sleepy from it. Also should't be the case right?

Local honey and bee pollen

Amazon

One thing I had heard a lot is that eating local honey from your area and also eating the bee pollen with that (ever had those? that is dry stuff that requires a lot of flushing down) should help. Now honestly...I like this idea a lot and so I tried this for a while (the bee pollen not for long, that aint good) but the honey is a good one in general to get it local, and if it helps? Why not...

But it doesn't help.

So last year I gave in and turned to the local GP with the question what to do now (never met the GP, I really never go) and if he had some good advice on what to try. He came up with this.

The hero!

Wow what a difference. This stuff which comes in a nose spray actually worked for the first time ever and it was no hassle. And it did get me wondering why I hadn't reached out to him earlier, but that is how it goes.

So this year I had forgotten a bit about the hayfever as I always do every year especially when it is still cold and with zero pollen. Also because of the nose spray I had last year there were zero complaints anymore which means the attention shifts a bit to the background again. And all of a sudden there was this pollen explosion this week and I woke up with the eyelashes glued to each other again.

As a complete addict I shuffled to the pharmacy to get my stash...I took a big sniff and felt everything melting in my nose. It was all good again. I was a druggy after all.

Yes, I am experimenting with some affiliate marketing so when you buy something on Amazon with these links, I might get something out of it.

As a fellow sufferer, I found a device called a Sinu-pulse very effective. It's like a waterpik for your nose. Similar to a Neti-pot on steroids, with a large container of saline water pulsed through your nose with electronic push.. Ahhhhh great an hour before bed for better sleeping.

So that is like the great flush-away-the-pollen situation right? Hehe yeah i believe there is infinite air then all of a sudden. Super nice!

And for the longer run? Does the allergic reaction get less?

I don't think there is any long term benefits, just the short term relief. But as you know that can be valuable in itself just reducing the symptoms for a bit!

The most valuable even! A couple of years back I went for acupuncture even. And when they stuck in the needles and it felt like the sinusses drained...heck that was the best...although short term..

Thats why...I dont like taking meds...but this stuff is really the bomb!
