All seasons in one beer

One of the things people like about Holland is that seasons are so broad here in all kinds of ways. Spring means everything is growing, summer means endless light and heat, autumn means the colors of the leaves are changing for the good one, and winter is just crap and maybe if you are lucky you will catch some snow.

What people all don't know is that all os these seasons seem to be possible even in the same day and not always spread through out the year.

I was working in the something around the house with sand and shovels and the sun was scorching me, even though the skin was already quite bien-cuit from the Greek sun earlier in the week. I ditched some layers and continued in summer vibe. The temperature was perfect and I was even considering putting on some shorts.

A brief while after this I had to be somewhere and while I was driving the sky turned black all of a sudden and I literally had to park the car on the side of the road because the hail was coming down so hard you werent able so see a thing anymore.

And apart from that that, the temperature plummeted like as if bears had taken over the market. Winter was back.

Luckily the place I was had a fire going and it was warm inside. The smell of wood and wet wood reminded me more of a spa than anything else and it felt great honestly!

But later on the sun came out again and it was time to let the kids play outside in the playground with the sun on the background. And while driving back I saw all the crops growing like a madman in the fields because of the combo of sun and rain, with little lambs running in between them.

Four seasons all in one day?

The beer of a choice that matched this all season weather day was a draft IJwit Amsterdam beer, not too heavy, not too sharp, not too fruity, but perfect for literally every day and location. And the location was also one where I had never been before. Vacation and travel in your own country.

A friend of mine said that the region where this place is, is more of a summer retrait for people from the big cities to experience a bit of countryside life. You know, hug some alpaccas and stuff ;)

Is this how vacation in Holland should look like? Because is that is, I am digging that all weather experience then in that case!

Cheers and greetz from Aken.
I prefer the coastline at a nice place in the sun with some nice blonde beer...

Totally agree with you. Blonde beer just goes a lot better with some beach and coatsline with sun with it!
