4 years of Hive-ing on!

Heck yeah, all of a sudden that day passed already and it was cool to see. 4 years of blogging around, in, and about crypto is here without actively reaslising it and the game is still going strong!

Reason for a celebration I would almost say, because actually 4 years is a damn long time. I guess this is also the 4 year reminder on how I got involved in crypto and started fooling around with this, and now 4 years later...am I wiser?

That is a good question actually

The reason why I even started to blog on HIVE (Steem ofcourse back in the days, but we all know how that story went) was just about sharing some pictures and talking about life here and there.

I was living in the Caribbean and hurricane Irma had just passed and it felt in place to write about this, since this was such a high profile topic on my agenda at that moment (considering this was such a strong hurricane which destroyed so much around me, which to a lot of people is just a news item...but to me, it was that everything around me was just broken) it needed a podium.

When I started blogging here 4 years back I had no idea about blogging in general and crypto in general. I blogged for a Dutch site which actually payed some money for the amount of views but there was so much clicks and plagiarism that is was actually quite daunting to see.

Steem learned me a lot. And discord was atually the place where I learned the most. I was active in all kinds of channels and so many people were willing to help with some advice and how this all worked.

I remember my first crypto (steem) transaction from A to B through blocktrades and I also remember nearly crapping myself to see if I didn't do anything wrong and if the funds actually arrived.

And they did! Confidence grew and I was understanding better and better how this all was working. Being a newbie ain't easy, I will surely remember that.

Private keys, the blogging etiquette, receiving adresses. Ow man, so much was new which is all now more of a blink of the eye.

I went to some Steemfest, met people from the community, saw that most of them are likeminded people who just are living their life and have this weird hobby on the side as we all have, and that was just very cool to see.

So we blog away and still going strong! The intention was always to write one post per day, and in general I had so many weeks where this actually happened. Some weeks now that just doesn't because you know...life gets in the way.

And because I am mostly a blogger about life, and covid wasn't really helping with bringing me topics for this, sometimes days pass where it doesn't happen. Does this make me less dedicated? Nehhh, we all have our own style!

And that is the cool thing about the HIVE community, there is a place for everyone. Are you a gamer? Splinterlands and Rising Star is the place to be. Do you make vlogs? Dtube and 3speak have you covered. Working on some music? The music is big and going strong having a podium for everyone. And a spot for the crypto and finance? Leofinance is the way to go.

There are so many communities in HIVE where you can feel at home, you just need to find the right one for you!

I have learned to just to me and I settle with the rewards that come with that. Sometimes this is just a couple of pennies, but some posts make bigger rewards. That is all fine by me because HIVE is still just my hobby and I like doing it. It isn't about the rewards in there, it should be fun

And after 4 years....it still is. See ya next year!

Yeah we all are able to find the region where we belong and feel at home and that is a cool thing. This will get even bigger I think and it will all find its place

You have been here a long time as well..how long is it now?

So I guess I joined about a month before you then. Crazy isn't it? Mad cool you're still blogging. I suck and keeping up. I don't see anyone in my feed. I gotta change that. Congratulations to your 4 year anniversary!

Hit me up when you get here. We could hang out. We got a hive meeting every last thursday of the month too. I wanna actually plan an event too. I know it seems crazy in the midst of all this. I think a bit of music with good people could elevate vibes.
