Weekend in Juan Griego

🇺🇸 Hi everyone. This is my first time posting to the #TheWeekend community.

I want to share with you a walk that I did this weekend with my daughter and my mother to the city of Juan Griego, there I visited a beautiful place called the Café Garden. As its name indicates, it is a cafe where they prepare really delicious Creole breakfasts, as well as natural fruit juices from the area.

Upon arrival we find a very large area where they occasionally hold events, also families gather to picnic on the lawn, it has a small park for children, as well as trees with swings made with local logs.

The café as such is a very beautiful and picturesque typical town house, there we had breakfast some delicious fish empanadas and papelón with lemon, a very traditional breakfast on the island of Margarita. For those who are not from Venezuela, the empanadas are made of corn flour, then they are filled, basically whatever you want, and then they are fried in oil ... a divinity.

What my daughter enjoyed the most was a small contact pen with baby animals for the children to feed. When the pandemic began, she was only 5 months old, so her interaction with the outside world has been very limited, she was finally able to meet other animals other than dogs or cats live.

She was very happy and excited, she fed corn to a hen, she stroked the rabbits, she carried a chick and a turtle, but the star of the walk was definitely the pig. At the end of the morning I was happier than her to see so much joy, to be able to visit that place and live new experiences.

🇻🇪 Hola a todos. Esta es la primera vez que público en la comunidad de #TheWeekend.

Quiero compartir con ustedes un paseo que hice este fin de semana con mi hija y mi mamá a la ciudad de Juan Griego, alli visité un lugar hermoso llamado el Jardín Café. Como su nombre lo indica es un café donde preparan desayunos criollos realmente deliciosos, además de jugos naturales de frutas de la zona.

Al llegar nos encontramos un terreno muy amplio en donde hacen eventos ocasionalmente, también las familias se reúnen para hacer picnic en el césped, tiene un pequeño parque para los niños, además hay árboles con columpios hechos con troncos del lugar.

El café como tal es una casita muy bonita y pintoresca tópica de pueblo, allí desayunamos unas ricas empanadas de pescado y papelón con limón, un desayuno muy tradicional de la Isla de Margarita. Para los que no son de Venezuela, las empanadas estan hechas de harina de maíz, luego se rellenan, básicamente de lo que quieras, y luego se fríen en aceite... una divinidad.

Lo que más disfrutó mi hija fue un pequeño corral de contacto con animales bebés para que los niños los alimenten. Cuando empezó la pandemia ella apenas tenía 5 meses de nacida, así que su interacción con el mundo exterior ha sido muy limitada, por fin pudo conocer en vivo otros animales que no fuesen perros o gatos.

Estaba muy contenta y emocionada, le dio de comer maíz a una gallina, acarició a los conejos, cargo un pollito y a una tortuga pero la estrella del paseo definitivamente fue el cerdito. Al final de la mañana yo estaba más feliz que ella al ver tanta alegría, de poder visitar ese lugar y vivir nuevas experiencias.
