In the heart of Porlamar on Margarita Island, located on the seashore, there is a large fish market with a lot of activity. Fishermen come from all over the island to sell their merchandise. They offer an incredible amount of fish, they clean them right there and leave them ready for you to take home to cook.

En pleno centro de Porlamar en la Isla de Margarita, ubicado a la orilla del mar, hay un gran mercado de pescados con mucha actividad. Llegan pescadores de todos los rincones de la isla para vender su mercancía. Ofrecen una cantidad increíble de pescado, allí mismo ellos los limpian y los dejan listos para que te los lleves a tu casa para cocinarlos.

Generally and very frequently, the residues of this cleaning of the fish they sell are collected and later thrown into the sea to feed the immense flocks of pelicans, seagulls and vulture that are found there.

Generalmente y con mucha frecuencia, los residuos de esta limpieza de los pescados que venden, son recolectados y más tarde arrojados al mar para alimentar a las inmensas bandadas de pelícanos, gaviotas y zamuros que allí se encuntran.

I was able to photograph very closely the pelicans resting on the stones, some taking flight and the occasional vulture that also haunt the place.

Pude fotografiar muy de cerca a los pelícanos descansando sobre las piedras, algunos alzando el vuelo y uno que otro zamuro que también rondan el lugar.

Lovely to see your entry and pelicans are so amazing. These close up images are very nice and the pelicans are so different than the ones we have here in Europe.
