Progressing through Destiny 2

It's been about four weeks since I first tried out Destiny 2.

It feels like longer.

I feel as though we've been playing it for months. MONTHS! But nope. It's only been one, measly, month.

When I first started playing it, I announced that I didn't know what I was doing!! but at least it was fun. To be completely honest, I still don't really know what I'm doing. I know how to play, I know how to do things, but the story, I have no freakin' clue what's going on.

I suppose I don't really need to know the story. And, to be fair, when I first started playing World of Warcraft (for example) I also had no clue what was going on. And even now, years later, I still only know the basic gist of that particular story. So in a game like this, I guess it's not too important. But it's still nice to know.

So, it's been a month!

In this month my partner and I have reached what is basically this season's endgame, with a month to spare. We bought the season pass and have exceeded it, we're down to focussing on the weekly challenges in order to acquire gear, and... yeah. We have reached boring ol' endgame.

Since there's nothing really to do except weekly challenges and daily bounties once you reach endgame, my partner decided to buy me all the previous-but-currently-active expansions so that we could do more stuff.

Thankfully, they were half-price last week! Score!

Unfortunately, whilst they have lots to do, I still don't know anything about the story. xD

One of our favourite things in-game at the moment are the Gambit activities, which is basically PvEvP.

You and your team fight enemies, collect motes, deposit the motes to block the other team from depositing their motes, and occasionally a portal will open and someone can jump through and PvP the other team and ruin their chances to win.

When you deposit enough motes, a great monster is summoned. The first team to kill their monster wins!

I'm not a huge fan of shooter pvp, but this I can deal with.

Another activity I find really enjoyable is the Dares of Eternity.

The first time I entered it, I was just thinking "wtf, wtf, what the actual f--?" over and over. There is the announcer, Xur, talking about his fabulous space equine. And how the space horse is pleased at my progress. And there's a constant whinny in the background as you progress through the game.

It feels like a whacked out space gameshow. I'm certain whoever thought of it was high on LSD when they created this masterpiece.

I love it. xD

So, at the moment I have a power level of 1564. I require 1575 minimum to get into proper, hard-mode endgame stuff that has the best rewards, but the only way to to gear up at the moment is by completing weekly challenges and you can only do so many of those each week.

It's going to take forever to get to 1575. xD But this is where we're at. The endgame-grind. Woo.

Still having fun though, enough that I'm considering buying the next season pass when it's up!

Which is massive for me. I'm really not a shooter person. 😅 Not unless it's something like, say, Mass Effect.

It's funny -- my partner was trying for months and months to get me to give Destiny 2 a go, and I was certain that I would hate it so tried to delay it for as long as possible. And here I am now, actually really enjoying it.

The more you know. 🤷‍♀

Until next time! 😊🔫🚀

HAHAHA the game looks pretty interesting, also fun, because it's like a MMORPG but ends up being a FPS, it's something like Warframe, I looked it up and I think my cardboard computer can run it.

Yes! It's quite similar to Warframe! 😊

Destiny 2 is also free, kind of. Not as free as Warframe is. You can download it for free, and try it out for free, but then you have to buy the latest expansion to actually access meaningful things. I completed most of the free content within two days, which was disappointing. But I enjoyed it enough to buy in!! 😄

I deeply love the story behind the game, actually if you can get to the story of the events, I have an idea that you will see the game differently. It can be played without touching the story, but if you really want to enjoy the game on another level, completely, you should know the story. The only thing that bothers me about the game is that they have already nerfed the hunters for the umpteenth time. I don't understand why they are so afraid of us. The only thing missing is for them to tie one hand to one foot to let us play. And yet they would still be afraid of us.

Aww, I'm really enjoying my Hunter.. I had no idea it had been nerfed so much. 😅 I feel pretty powerful with it.

The story... I'll probably get it after some time. But I watched back-to-back lore videos, trying to get the story from the first game and what's happened in this so far, and a lot of it is still just a jumble to me. I'm sure I'll slowly get it after some time. 🙂

I hope you enjoy the story. The only thing that I regret and miss is the death of Cayde.
