Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 || Season One!

Over the past week, after having never played a single game of the franchise previously, I've been getting right into the latest Call of Duty — mostly a couple of hours in Team Deathmatch with my partner and our group of friends after dinner, and then I've been trying to "git gud" by myself in free-for-all matches throughout the day.

Because I've actually been getting right into it, I thought I'd buy the battle pass for this first season of the game. 😊 I'm pretty unfamiliar in regards to battle passes and things. The only other battle-pass/season-pass thing I've bought is the one available in Destiny 2.

(The one available in Path of Exile would be more enticing if it gave actual items and not just skins for weapons I don't even use.)

So far it seems pretty straight forward. You gain XP when you play, and then when you've earnt enough XP you get a token, then you can use that token to unlock one thing at a time in the current sector you've chosen. In total you need 5 tokens to unlock everything in the sector.

After claiming all items in a sector, you can choose which way you go next, and, of course, if you complete the entire map you get extra goodies.

I'm choosing to go up through the middle — A1 > A3 > A5 > A9 > A12 > A15 > A18 — in order to unlock the Dark Roze skin as soon as I can. She's the main operative I'm playing as at the moment. I thought I wanted Calisto, but after unlocking her with 5 headshots in a single match I decided I like the look of Roze better.

And so it was time to get playing some Free For All while awaiting my team members later tonight, and I just want to say again that it's very hard to get screenshots when you're running around like a loony trying to shoot people and avoid being shot at yourself. xD

But I officially had my best game so far!!

I've come third a few times in these Free For All matches, but this time I came second and it was a pretty close second too! I was very pleased with myself. 😁

After quite a few games, I unlocked everything in the first sector and began my path towards Dark Roze! 😁 At this point of the day it was time to play some multiplayer...

Of course, after playing Free For All all day, being on a team resulted in quite a few jump-scare trigger-finger shooting-friendlies accidents. Good thing there's no friendly fire in these basic deathmatches. 😅 When the season was announced, they wrote something about friendly fire being activated... but thankfully it's not activated in what we play.

I think I need to try a few team deathmatches with randoms throughout the day instead of just Free For All, it's just I worry about being that noob that gets killed 30 times, making the enemy team win just that much faster. xD It's fine with friends, not with randoms.

I haven't even tried the objective multiplayer game types yet either... and I need to finish up to Chapter Ten of the campaign so I can unlock Nova to play as when we're on the non-Roze team. 😅

I'm actually a little disappointed that WoW's Dragonflight is going to be released in 11 days as of writing this, since we'll all be playing that instead of this. I'm enjoying this that much.

Never thought I'd say that about a generic war shooter. xD Who knows though; I might be burnt out enough by the 11th day to find refuge in WoW. 😅
