Ladies of Hive Community Contest #9

Here we are with another contest by The Ladies of Hive Community. This group is awesome because they're dedicated to supporting and empowering others. To keep the Community alive and buzzing, members able to participate in contests that are completely voluntary. It's a great way to engage with each other within the Community and get to know one another through our content. I've participated in a few contests so far.

Upon reading the requirements for this Contest #9, I knew I would enjoy this one also as it deals with challenging yourself and what I'm thankful for.

Below are my responses to the questions:

1. When did you last challenge yourself, or who was the last person to challenge you and how did that work out?

Challenges. We face many of them throughout our lifetime.

Several months ago, I noticed several posts in my feed related to challenges. In any venture, you first have to decide if you have the time and willingness to complete any task you undertake. That's the reason why I'm a bit hesitant to take on more than I can handle due to previous commitments, both online and off.

However, I noticed a particular post that included a Challenge related to publishing a post each day for 30 days. I can normally publish a post for 30 days if no designated content.

This Challenge provides a specific topic each day that you must write about. It's called the 30-day Blog Challenge. I knew I wanted to participate, but circumstances at the time prevented me from accepting the challenge. I bookmarked the post in case there came a time I could fully commit to addressing a specific topic each day for 30 days.

I promised myself that if I started this Challenge, I would see it through and that I wanted to complete it before the end of this year.

So I decided to challenge myself. I accepted this 30-day Blog Challenge for the month of December. In between the time I decided to participate, a Community was created specifically for this Challenge. It's the Blogging Challenge Community. The tag to utilize for your posts is: #bloggingchallenge. You can publish your 30 posts directly in the Community if you desire.

I created an image to use for each of my 30 posts to have a visual of what's ahead of me. I'll start on December 1st. Wish me luck.

2. What are you thankful for?

Being thankful in your life should be automatic. Just being able to wake up each morning is something to be thankful for.

In my lifetime, I've known many individuals and read numerous stories about them and the problems they face daily. I'm thankful that issues in my life are few and don't come often.

This year has been an exception though with the number of family members I've lost. Still, I'm thankful for the remaining family near and far. I made a promise last year to keep in touch with them more regularly than I had been in the past. I have kept that promise.

I'm thankful for my overall health, even though I have several ailments that prevent me from doing just regular activities I used to enjoy.

I'm also thankful for my children and my granddaughter. They are a source of joy in my life. The fact that I have a lifetime spouse is something I should stop and be thankful for. Sometimes I think I don't do this often enough. Since covid-19 started earlier this year, he is the one who ventures out into the public to get whatever we need so that I don't have to. When I finish this post, I will go thank him again.

It doesn't take a lot for me to live comfortable. I'm thankful that I have enough financial resources to take care of myself and my family. I'm also thankful for the ability to help others in need.
