Garden Journal/Bitter Melon

Hello everybody,

I saw a single tiny weeny plant near our pathway, but I knew it is bitter melon or bitter gourd/Momordica Charantia. I picked it up transfered it near the fence. I placed hollow blocks at the sides and added organic soil. Days passby I forgot about it. When I washed the clothes and hanged them I was surprised I saw many yellow flowers with bitter melon fruit. They almost covered the fence.

The other day I harvested the fruits already.

Amazing plant! Thankful I transfered it. I let my son cooked the bittermelons. He just chopped, sauteed it in oil, adding garlic, onions, tomatoes and scrambled eggs, a dash of salt. Wallah! our viand for lunch was solved.

Paired it with corn rice, it is indeed yummilicious! We were surpised the bitter melon tasted good no bitterness whatsoever.

Then, the next morning when I checked the blood sugar of hubby, it drop down a bit. researching it in Googgle, this bitter melon can reduce blood sugar and full of nutrients that can be beneficial to our health.

I am so grateful my act of transferring the plant bears fruit we could devour.

That's all folks, thanks for dropping by...
