Private One Room Villa at Pineale Resort and Spa

avatar
My husband and I, we got married on a holiday. We made it that way so not to miss celebrating our anniversary. Thank goodness that this year, after two years of the pandemic, Bohol and perhaps the entire country is slowly getting back to normal, I mean the new normal with our facemasks on.

Panglao's resorts are still offering lower rates though due to the significant low number of tourists in the island. Boholanos can truly take advantage of it and this time, I decided to check in at a private villa somewhere in Tawala, Panglao. This is where most of the resorts are located, very near to the white shore of Alona Beach.

Have you been to Pineale Resort and Spa?

The private villa is priced at Php 6,000+ if you book in online booking sites for a one night stay but on their Facebook page, they have set the price at Php 1850 for their one room villa, the studio one was way cheaper. Two weeks before our anniversary on February 24, I contacted their Facebook page and finally received a response. I had been trying to get in touch with them since last year but never got a reply until then.

So today, I am sharing with you how our private villa at Pineale Resort and Spa looks and a review.

We arrived a little late, check in was supposed to be at three in the afternoon but we arrived at four, still it was okay though it was sprinkling, we came from Ibabaw Gardens and it took us almost an hour traveling to Panglao. My niece was already sleepy but she got excited when we reached the villa.

The view upon getting inside the gate.

I missed to take photos of the view from the outside of the resort though but they got around eight exclusive villas. One Studio villa which is good for two persons, Five One Bedroom villa which are also good for two persons per villa, & Two Family villa which are good for six people per villa.

Upon booking, I had to pay a booking fee of Php 500 over GCash transfer. The remaining balance can be paid upon checkin which I did and it didn't take long so we were showed to our villa, the keys were given, and we settled down.

Calachuchi tree, a dwarf one sits next to the pool.

Every villa has a gate of their own but they are sitting next to each other so we could hear the music from the other villa. There's a mini garden too, some plants and shrubs covering the jacuzzi. Here are some of the amenities offered:

  • Own swimming pool
  • Own jacuzzi
  • Own kitchen with utensils (NO CORKAGE if you bring your own food)
  • Comfort room
  • Dining area
  • Living room
  • Smart LED TV (Netflix, Youtube)
  • Wifi access
  • Air-conditioning Unit

Livingroom

My baby welcomes me as I knocked and asked him to open the glass sliding door. It's a white, blue and brown theme. They got the tiles in gray and I like it! The glass walls and doors facing the pool is nice because we can see the pool from inside.

Achi Zaila and Matti at the living room.

There were seats available and a couch too but the kids decided to stay on the floor. Our bags were still at the living room when I took these photos. Matti, liked it a lot, he had been running here and there. Again, I really like the tiles.

There's a weaved floor mat, some ornamental plants at the center table, there were also mirrors and an air conditioner in the living room! It's very minimalistic I should say.

Since my niece was with us and the bed was only a queen-sized one, I tole her to use the couch instead to sleep and she was okay with it. The couch was spacious though and there were a lot of throw pillows, like a lot!

The living room also has the dining table, a solid wood with two solid wood chairs too!

Kitchen

Opposite to the couch is the kitchen area, it's spacious and the counter is long. At the left area, there's the glass induction cooktop. It also has a kitchen hood which we don't have an idea if it works automatically but we couldn't find a button to make it work. We forgot to ask the people from the front desk but the cooktop was easy to use, it was also touchscreen.

At the right end was the sink and the refrigerator too. There were around four sets of storage cabinets. Underneath the sink was the trash can, next to it has the plates and utensils, the one under the cooktop had the cookwares and the other one was empty.

I actually fall in love with this kitchen setup, very clean and the limestone wall covering half of the wall was really pretty!

Room

Now let's go to the room!

A7303190.jpg

Thick comfortable bed!

While I admire the tiles at the living room and kitchen area, the tiles inside the room had a wood design but when wet, it can be very slippery that it's not good for kids to run around. The bed frame however is cool and the headboard was also comfortable. What I always enjoy when checking in at hotels or resorts are the beds! I love them!

They had even provided a towel art, I am not sure how to call these though but they look cute! There's also a glass wall and door access to the pool and jacuzzi, a thick curtain can be opened or closed and this is truly thick that it can blackout the room. It's pretty heavy too but they got a stick next to the curtain to pull or push to make it easier to open and close the curtain.

Hubby figuring out the network connection of the Smart TV.

There's a smart tv too inside the room. I wished it was in the living room though. But we were able to play videos from YouTube and Netflix from here. When I contacted them, they mentioned that their internet connection was still not fixed due to the Typhoon but upon check in, the connection was actually good, upon testing the speed, the download was 41mpbs while the upload was 30mpbs.

A7303192.jpg

There's also a couch inside the room with the same design as the bed's headboard. I tried to take a photo of Matti and the husband but Matti won't stay still.

There were no cabinets or closets in the room, so I checked the comfort room and found this very spacious too. The closet is located inside opposite to the sink which has a huge mirror. They got marble tiles all over the place. What's really interesting is that they made a way for natural light to get in. So during the day, we don't have to use the lights.

There's hot and cold shower, I always love hot showers and I had been wanting to get ourselves as well a hot shower at home but never had the chance to do that yet. There's a lot of work to be done to get the hot and cold shower up so as much as possible, when we checkin at any hotel or resort, I would prefer one which has a hot shower. I surely enjoy as well the shower which was like taking a bath under the rain.

Unfortunately, the tiles are again not baby proofed. This was way slippery than the one in the room especially when wet. My baby almost slipped while taking a bath. I wished that the tiles used in the living room was the same ones used in the entire villa.

There's a bidet too and a soap and shampoo dispenser too!

Jacuzzi

A7303193.jpg

I don't know how these plants are called but they are huge and they resemble the banana leaves.

The staff showed us how to turn on the Jacuzzi, it can be used up until eight in the evening and it was enticing when we first got inside the villa however, as we were about to use it, we noticed that there were insects floating. Oh no!

Also, the water was very cold, I wonder why, so we ended up not using it instead.

This is just a small one though, only one or two people can get inside and it's also noisy. It was in fact scary when we turned it on so we just decided to turn it off and be content with the pool.

Pool

A7303215.jpg

A hammock or hanging chair in the pool!

After getting our clothes changed at around 4:30 PM, my niece, Matti and I went into the pool and enjoyed the water. Good thing the rain had stopped. Although the water was a little cold, it was manageable. We had fun as we brought some water guns too! My niece and I were both shooting water to each other!

A7303274.jpg

The only thing was that it's hard to get to the hammock! I was trying it out myself but I can't lift myself. My husband and niece were good at pulling themselves into the hammock, guess I need some exercise!

Except for the tiles and the Jacuzzi, I love all the rest about the Pineale Resort and Spa villa. I'd love to bring the family too because it provides the privacy that we needed especially that we got kids and soon babies.

There are still many other resorts in Panglao that I want to check out. I hope that their rates will stay as is for the meantime. Let's see which resort should we check in next! I am eyeing Samadhi Resort and Hydrospa.
