LOS EMPLEOS QUE TUVE ANTES DE SER MAMÁ / THE JOBS I HAD BEFORE I WAS A MOM

Hola comunidad! En esta ocasión les platicaré sobre los empleos que he tenido a lo largo de mi vida... Actualmente tengo 29 años e inicié mi vida laboral alrededor de los 15 años.

El primer empleo que tuve fue en una menudería, para los que no sean de México, el menudo es un caldo rojito que lleva carne de panza de res y en el norte de México le incluímos granos de maíz. Entonces yo trabajaba en una menudería, la cual tenía bastantes ventas; en mi región se suele comer menudo los domingos por la mañana desde temprano, esta menudería empezaba a vender desde las 6am, pero realmente el trabajo empezaba desde el jueves, limpiábamos bien la carne con cal y agua para quitar la posible suciedad y el mal olor, porque esta carne tiene un olor muy peculiar. Se empezaba a cocinar el menudo el sábado por la tarde-noche, hacían como 5 ollas grandísimas! Las cuales se terminaban completamente aproximadamente a las 5 horas de haber empezado la venta. Este lugar quedaba en la misma calle donde yo vivía, a unas 8 casas de la mía y estuve en este empleo poco tiempo, porque sólo era por temporada, aproximadamente unos dos meses.

The first job I had was in a menudo restaurant, for those who aren't from Mexico, the menudo is a red broth that has beef belly meat and in the north of Mexico we include corn grains. In my region it's usually eaten early on Sunday mornings from early on, this restaurant started selling from 6am, but the work really started from Thursday, we cleaned the meat well with lime and water to remove any possible dirt and bad smell , because this meat has a very peculiar smell. They started cooking the menudo on Saturday evening, they made like 5 huge pots! Which were completely finished approximately 5 hours after the sale began. This place was on the same street where I lived, about 8 houses from mine and I was in this job for a short time, because it was only seasonal, about two months.

Posteriormente ingresé a trabajar a una tienda departamental, este empleo era por temporada navideña, por lo que solamente estuve unas semanas. Yo apoyaba a la encargada del área de ropa para niñas y en algunas ocasiones apoyaba en el área de cajas, embolsando las compras de los clientes.

Later I went to work in a department store, this job was for the Christmas season, so I was only there for a few weeks. I supported the girl in charge of the clothing area and on some occasions I supported the checkout area, bagging the customers' purchases.

Mi siguiente empleo fue en una tapicería, igualmente en mi calle, era frente a mi casa. Este empleo lo tomé porque el dueño del lugar me pidió apoyo porque necesitaba quien se hiciera cargo de ventas online, entonces como yo estuve 6 meses sin estudiar, al salir de la prepa, esperando que iniciaran las clases en la universidad que yo elegí, por esto tenía tiempo de sobra. Los lunes, miércoles y viernes iba medio día, porque en las tardes practicaba Tae kwon do; los martes y jueves iba tiempo completo y los sábados se trabajaba sólo medio día. En este empleo estuve como 3 meses y posteriormente mi jefe abrió otro local en la esquina donde pondría un negocio de compra venta de muebles y decidió que mejor yo me encargara de ese negocio. En este lugar estuve otros 3 meses hasta que entré a la universidad.

My next job was in an upholstery, also on my street, it was in front of my house. I took this job because the owner of the place asked me for support because he needed someone to take charge of online sales, so since I was 6 months without studying, when I left high school, waiting for classes to start at the university that I chose, for this had time to spare. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I went for half a day, because in the afternoons I practiced Tae kwon do; Tuesdays and Thursdays I went full time and on Saturdays we worked only half a day. I was in this job for about 3 months and later my boss opened another store on the corner where he would set up a furniture buying and selling business and he decided that I'd better take care of that. I stayed in this place for another 3 months until I entered university.

Seis meses después de entrar a la escuela, entre a trabajar a una pizzería, en el área de call center, nos encargábamos de contestar llamadas y enviar los pedidos a la sucursal correspondiente, tenían en ese entonces alrededor de 13 sucursales entre mi ciudad y otras 4 aledañas. Al inicio iba 6 días a la semana, tenía un horario de 2:30-10:30pm, era muy pesado ya que en lo que llegaba a mi casa, a veces hacía tarea pendiente y me terminaba durmiendo muy tarde, a la mañana siguiente despertaba muy temprano para ir a la escuela, por esto decidí pedir mi cambio al horario de fin de semana, ahora iría de jueves a domingo. En este empleo trabajé por dos años y medio.

Six months after entering school, I went to work at a pizzeria, in the call center area, we were in charge of answering calls and sending orders to the corresponding branch, at that time they had around 13 branches between my city and other 4 neighboring. At the beginning I went 6 days a week, I had a schedule from 2: 30-10: 30pm, it was very heavy 'cause when I arrived at my house sometimes did pending homework and ended up sleeping very late, the next morning I woke up very early to go to school, so I decided to ask for my change to the weekend schedule, now I would go from Thursday to Sunday. In this job I worked for two and a half years.

Del empleo de las pizzas decidí renunciar porque iba a iniciar mis prácticas profesionales, así que ingresé a un restaurante como practicante del área de recursos humanos, terminé mis prácticas y pude quedarme un tiempo más para seguir como practicante pero igual siempre tuve un apoyo económico.

From the job of the pizzas, I decided to quit because I was going to start my professional internship, so I entered a restaurant as an intern in the human resources area, I finished my internship and I was able to stay a while longer to continue as an intern, but I always had financial support.

Al salir de la universidad, dos meses después encontré empleo en una agencia de recursos humanos dónde inicié como auxiliar y posteriormente a los 3 meses ascendí a encargada, tenía aproximadamente 8 personas a mi cargo. Estuve dos años y medio en este empleo, decidí renunciar porque las cosas habían empeorado en cuanto a la forma de trabajar, el pago y prestaciones, además ahora estaba embarazada de 7 meses y no tenía mucho qué perder en ese empleo, entonces decidí renunciar y dedicarme de lleno al término de mi embarazo y posteriormente a mi bebé.

When I left university, two months later I found a job in a human resources agency where I started as an assistant and later, after 3 months, I was promoted to manager, I had approximately 8 people in my charge. I spent two and a half years in this job, I decided to quit because things had gotten worse in terms of the way of working, pay and benefits, and now I was 7 months pregnant and didn't have much to lose in that job, so I decided to quit and dedicate myself fully to the end of my pregnancy and later to my baby.
