BOOKSALE IS MY GO-TO PLACE FOR ART BOOKS!
I may not look like it, but I buy books too! hahaha! I'm no bookworm but I read from time to time if I feel like it, or if I'm really interested in a particular topic or book, picky is what you call it.
History of it was, I got influenced by my classmates, they brag about buying artbooks at a cheap price in booksale store.
Truth be told every time we are in booksale, they'd race to look for art books while I casually go to the manga section 😆 HAHAHA! I wasn't that hype yet until our thesis subject in 4th year came along, that was the time I felt the importance of owning one and how convenient it is, thus I joined their art books hunting.
This day, I was just planning to look around booksale, and I saw one art book and led to another, I found (7) seven art books on those random shelves and planned to buy them all, Impulsive buyer however, one was written in French, so I had to put it back sad... Some cost around 200-300PHP (3-7 USD) for thin books while the thicker ones are 500-800 PHP (9-15.77 USD).
While I was at the counter I asked the cashier if there was a discount, she said 10% off if my purchase reaches 1,000 PHP (20 USD) which actually exceeded, I got 300PHP (5.50 USD) saved from my purchase! yey!
oh wait make that 4.68 USD since I got charged with the bag 😆 which costs 45 PHP (0.83 USD), so expensive for a bag, they should have given me a free one since I bought a lot, hahaha then while going to the parking lot area, the bag gave in 😭 my books were way too heavy! It was a good thing I was almost in the car.
These kinds of art books are costly especially when it's in national bookstore or in fullybook so my alternative store is booksale, which produces secondhand books that are still in good use, especially art books, although you can see some little rips in the covers but all good inside ~
As they say ~ don't judge a book by its cover! 🤣
These secondhand art books smells like bargain and has "OLD BUT GOLD" vibes jk ✌️🤣
I love Booksale! 💖 I first learned about it from a classmate who excitedly shared how she bought a book for just 25 pesos ($0.46). They took me to the nearest Booksale in our school, and there I found one of our required literature books for only 50 pesos. What a steal! Since then, I always make it a point to check out Booksale before buying books at Fullybooked 😅. Visiting Booksale feels like going on a treasure hunt, it brings me so much joy! 😁
ahaha yes sobrang dami nga mura i bought 10-20 pesos din na books ginawa kong book safe yong iba, nakaka addict tlga bumili so sobrang mura,
super! two stores na experience ko dati naka randomize kung saan malagay, so challenging tlaga searching them, especially madaming pa ako ka competition like paunahan tlga kami ng classmate ko on getting an artbook, there was a time my first purchase ever was getting a big art book with 99 pesos each, steal na siya kasi sa ganon ka laki na nasa 550-600 pesos na sa fullybook or national bookstore eh, binili ko tlga agad kasi if makita ng classmate ko yon for sure kukunin niya hahaha
etong binili ko now, i can always wait for it na mag lower down pa ang price pero knowing my professor who always visit in this branch na booksale, di yon magdadalawang isip bilhin hahaha
me too ~ dami kong art books, before esp. yong sa fully book , sayang nga eh, binenta ko nong time na pandemic, kasi need ko ng money with a lower price pa tlga, good steal masayado sa nakabili, as they say if you love something learn to let it go CHAROT! HAHAHAH
thank you c!
Nice!!! That’s a jackpot hahah. I always feel going to Booksale is too much work for me to find gems especially art books cos I’m too lazy too look and they could be anywhere in the store haha but so nice you found these at a low price. Those art history books are always worth it :D
true they just put it on a random shelf making it a hunt for us art students to look for it hahaha, I got surprised there was a lot in this branch, usually I just see 1 or 2 before and I'm glad I was able to get all these since knowing our art professor they won't hesitate to buy it esp. that art history book... 😆
Secondhand book sale is my favorite too! it's been a while since I visited one and your post reminded me there's an ongoing book sale in my city that I hope it's not over yet. Those book history is something I love and I am sure the new one would cost an arm and leg xD. I have a few like that but it was mostly hand-me-downs from my grandpa.
oh no! I hope it's not too late you better go there and buy lots of books!
HAHAHA original price of those thick history books would be 54.99 dollars but i got it at 10-15.76 😍
I love a hand me down book, it has sentimental value on them, but my family aren't into reading.. though I'm open with friends if they hand theirs to me HAHAHAH
