[ENG-SPN] The Coast of the Unconscious / La Costa del Inconsciente

Perhaps these shores, torn apart millennia ago by unpredictable tectonic movements, could have inspired, in the imagination of that metaphorical cabin boy of the tempestuous seas of the Collective Unconscious, the American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft, the ideal settings for that race of monstrous amphibious beings, the Deep Ones, who, according to his delirious mythological cosmology, prevailed when the world was still young.

Many related myths have been passed down orally from generation to generation, populating these suburbs of the impossible with a whole range of beings, whose main cradle seems to sway to the rhythm of waters that are not always as sweet as those that kiss the fine sands of the sun-drenched beaches of the Mediterranean.

And yet, like them, mysterious presences have emerged from their raging waves, forming an apocryphal protohistory, largely unknown today, where pre- and post-diluvian beings, such as the mythical Noah and his descendants, left behind some of their ancestral knowledge in countless legends that are still easy to trace.

Posiblemente, estas costas, desgarradas hace milenios por imprevisibles movimientos tectónicos, hubieran provocado, en la imaginación de ese metafórico grumete de los tempestuosos mares del Inconsciente Colectivo, el escritor norteamericano, Howard Phillips Lovecraft, los escenarios ideales para esa raza de monstruosos seres anfibios, los Profundos, que, según su delirante cosmología mitológica, prevalecieron cuando el mundo era joven todavía.

Muchos son los mitos relacionados que la tradición oral ha ido transmitiéndose de generación en generación, los cuales pueblan estos suburbios de lo imposible con toda una gama de seres, cuya cuna principal parece mecerse al compás de unas aguas, que no siempre se presentan tan dulces como aquellas otras que besan las finas arenas de las soleadas playas del Mediterráneo.

Y, sin embargo, también como ellas, a través de sus embravecidas olas han surgido misteriosas presencias que conforman una apócrifa protohistoria, bastante desconocida hoy en día, donde seres pre y post diluvianos, como el mítico Noé y sus descendientes, dejaron parte de su conocimiento ancestral, en un sin fin de leyendas que todavía son fáciles de rastrear.
