[ENG-SPN] Celtic architecture in Bierzo and Ancares / Arquitectura celta en el Bierzo y los Ancares

Two of the most picturesque and significant areas of what in medieval times was the powerful and unique kingdom of León, are none other than Bierzo and Los Ancares. Areas that, bordering Galicia and especially with the communities of Lugo and Orense, not only stand out for their spectacular orography, but also for the uniqueness of some towns, in which it is still appreciated, with the strength that it always gives. respect for tradition, the conservation of its ancient architecture.

In this sense, it is not difficult at all to observe the survival, in many of them, of those cabins, also known as pallozas, of purely Celtic origin, which still, today, retain the same appearance. and comfort of those ancient homes, whose remains, in many cases, we can still assume in the archaeological remains of what were once their main forts or towns, quite abundant, on the other hand, in the north of Spain.

The pieces of architecture you've shown us in both towns are quite good, even though they are not as sophiscated as modern buildings. I can say both towns are considerably beautiful. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

True, there is a chasm of distance between these rural architectures, which are still based on immemorial construction techniques, adapted, of course, to the environment and modern architecture.
