Hey Guys, its time to give the results of our latest guild brawl this March 21. Another 2nd place finished same as the last brawl we had. This time I played on Fray 10 with Chaos Legion edition restriction with Silver league cap. With only 6 matches, we will go through with the post analysis for each match.

BRAWL RESULT

Another 2nd place finished from our guild. To date, this is the fourth times we got 2nd place since the start of year 2022. This time we received 21 Crowns and 969 Merits for each participating members.

We were still missing some great players like @jsundy and @haru-munyaa in this brawl. We could easily top this brawl with them given there are empty frays as well.

We had 2 empty frays in this brawl.

Each of us received 969 Merits and our guild received 21 Crowns

Booty Lickers Brawl Rewards:

Aside from the merits we get in brawl rewards, our guild leader also gives DEC rewards to the member who gets the most win per Tier.
Tier1: Fray1 - Fray4 = 25 DEC
Tier2: Fray5 - Fray7 = 50 DEC
Tier3: Fray8 - Fray10 = 100 DEC
Tier4: Fray11 - Fray13 = 150 DEC

And these rewards are multiplied based on the guild performance (1st place is x4, 2nd place is x3, 3rd place is x2).

Aside from that, members who are undefeated in they frays gets DEC rewards as well.
For members who are undefeated and the Tier champ will get the same reward on thier tier. While members who are undefeated but are not the tier champ gets half of the reward on their tier.

And here are the results of the latest brawl (03/06/2022):

Post Match Analysis

This was my first time battling in this fray 10 with Chaos Legion restriction and Silver league cap.

Good thing with this fray is that I had less rentals compare when you are fighting in gold frays or with any Silver league restriction. Since I am building my Chaos Legion Silver league deck, I already have most of the cards I need for this brawl except for the legendaries.

Unfortunately, I lost 1 match. I was hoping to have a perfect score but failed to win all those games. I also had 1 match were my opponent fled, a free win is always good.

Battle ConditionDescription
Rule #1Target Practice - All Ranged and Magic attacks have the Snipe ability.
Rule #2Earthquake - Non-flying Monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round.
Mana Cap12
Allowed SplinterFire, Water, and Death

In this match, Target Practice is not much of a priority since we have a low mana cap battle. What my focused was on the Earthquake ruleset so I deployed monsters with Flying abilities like Riftwing and Carrion Shade. While my opponent focuses on having a single monster with high armor to absorb the damage from Earthquake. It was a very close fight, if his Deimonshark didn't connect its last attack, I could have won that match with the damage from Backfire and Earthquake.

One thing that I probably made a mistake in terms of positioning was putting Life Sapper in the back of Riftwing. Riftwing could survive another match if only Life Sapper was in front of it to absorb the attack triggered from Trample.

Thaddius Brood reduces enemy magic damage and max health by 1 point. I selected the Death Splinter cause I know I have a lot of monsters with Flying ability with low mana requirement.
Corpse Fiend is a zero mana monster with 1 melee damage. I used it as a decoy to absorb some initial damage from enemy. Although it is a bit of a double edge especially when fighting against monsters with Bloodlust.
Carrion Shade is a melee monster with Flying ability that is suitable to use in this battle ruleset. Though it has a lower health, it will not be affected by earthquake.
Riftwing is a no-attack monster with Flying ability and Scavenger ability. With its Flying ability, it will not be affected by the Earthquake rule. Its Scavenger ability also allows it to gained 1 health when any monster dies. Putting monsters with low HP like Corpse Fiend (mine) and Torrent Fiend (enemy) will benefit Riftwing since it gains HP when monster dies. At level 5, it gains Backfire ability which allows it to damage attacking enemy when they missed their attack with Riftwing.
Life Sapper has the Life Leech ability. It gains health points relative to its damage to enemy monsters. I was banking on Life Sapper surviving the battle longer thru its leeching ability.

Battle ConditionDescription
Rule #1Target Practice - All Ranged and Magic attacks have the Snipe ability.
Rule #2Lost Legendaries - Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles.
Mana Cap36
Allowed SplinterWater and Dragon

With the Lost Legendaries, it is not advisable to used Dragon Splinter since Dragon Monsters in the Chaos Legion release are of Legendary rarity, meaning no monster from Dragon Splinter can be used. With the Target Practice ruleset, it is better to use Magic monster so that we won't have to worry about the armor of the enemy monster. Ranged monters are also good since they will also benefit in this ruleset.

With the limited Splinter to choose from, we already know that it will be a match against two Water deck. I opted to utilized the Snipe abilities provided by the ruleset so I focused on Ranged and Magic Monsters. Aside from that I used a Taunt monster place at the backline with a monster with Triage ability to support it.

Kelya Frendul is the better choice here for me. Quix the Devious was the other option but there was not much benefit since we cannot use any Dragon monster. Quix can cancel the Speed buff provided by Kelya, so it is a choice between addtional armor from Kelya or to reduce Ranged damage of enemy monster from Quix.
Xenith Monk has the Heal abilities which can help to survive longer in the match. It also has high speed which can help evade attacks.
Nerissa Tridawn has a high magic damage. It is my main damager for this match. With the Magic damage, I won't have to worry about the armor of the enemy.
Angelic Mandarin is a ranged monster with Triage ability. Triage ability heals backline monsters which received the most damage. It is effective against Snipe ability since it will heal the backline monsters instead of the fronline.
Edith Emberstar is a ranged attacking monster with high damage. With the Snipe ability from the ruleset, it is more deadly since it will target backline monsters which normally has lower HP or armor. It's Bloodlust ability was triggered four times in this match.
Wave Brood is a ranged monster with Taunt ability. It's our main tank in this battle since most of the attacks will be directed to it. With the help from Triage ability, Wave Brood manager to survived the attacks from enemy monsters.

Battle ConditionDescription
Rule #1Earthquake - Non-flying Monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round.
Rule #2Little League - Only Monsters and Summoners that cost 4 mana or less can be used in battles
Mana Cap25
Allowed SplinterLife, Earth, Dragon, and Death

With the Earthquake rule, it is recommended to use monsters with Flying ability to avoid the 2 melee damage at the end of each round. But instead of using Flying monsters, I opted to used Earth Splinter then use Queen Mycelia to provide 2 armors. I also Scavo Herling to repair armors that will absorb some damage from Earthquake.

Obsidian provides additional magic damage to friendly monsters. My opponent uses the same Summoner even though it only has 1 monster with Magic damage.
Xenith Monk has self healing ability which can help to survive longer since it can recover the damage from Earthquake with self heal.
Queen Mycelia provides 2 armor to all friendly monsters with its Protect ability. It is a Magic monster and the magic damage buff from Obsidian definitely helps.
Spirit Hoarder is a magic monster with Triage ability. It benefited from the buff provided by Obsidian. But the most important reason why I used it is because it can heal any monsters at the backline.
Iza the Fanged is a ranged monster with Sneak ability. It will targets monster at the back. Main reason why I chose it is because of the Scavenger ability. It will gain 1 health point everytime any monster in the field dies. It also has a good damage for a 4 mana monster.
Scavo Hireling is there for the armor repair. Armors can absorb the damage from Earthquake, so the armor repair is basically to help sustain the match longer even for a single monster.

Battle ConditionDescription
Rule #1Silenced Summoner - Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
Rule #2Holy Protection - All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.
Mana Cap44
Allowed SplinterLife, Fire, Water, and Death

With the Silenced Summoner, your choice of Summoner will depend on the level of Summoners and the choice of Splinter you want to use. I opted to used Life Splinter cause I have a lot of high mana monsters. Also with the Holy Protection ruleset, it is better to have monsters with speed advantage and Blast ability to easily trigger the Divine Shield effect. Speed Runner (Swiftness ability) and Time Mage (Slow ability) helps me in terms of increasing the speed difference between my monsters and opponent monsters. Prismologist's Blast ability helps in triggering the effect of Divine Shield which makes killing the enemy faster.

With the Silenced Summoner ruleset, only the level of Summoner is important since it can limit the level of monsters we can use in the match.
Uriel the Purifier has a high HP, high armor, Flying ability, Recharge ability, and Heal ability (at level 2). It is one of the best Tank in Life Splinter.
Adelade Brightwing has a Flying ability, Armor Repair, and Resurrect ability. It also has a 2 magic damage which is good for a 7 mana cap monster. The Armor Repair will greatly help since there is only one monster in enemy lineup with magic damage and the rest are melee and range.
Time Mage provides a Slow debuff to enemy monsters to reduce their Speed. In this match, having a higher speed is crucial since my strategy is to burst down single target
Prismologist has a high ranged damage with Blast ability. With Blast ability, we can easily trigger the effect of Divine Shield from enemy monsters.
Speed Runner provides the Speed buff to our monsters. As I mentioned, my strategy is to burst down single target so that it will not have a chance to attack in that round.
Doctor Blight is our surprised monster here. With its Camouflage ability, it will not be attack by enemy monsters as long as it is not in the frontline. But the best thing in having a Doctor Blight is because of the Affliction and Poison ability. With the Affliction, we can negate any healing abilities from targeted monster.

Battle ConditionDescription
Rule #1Rise of the Commons - Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles
Mana Cap42
Allowed SplinterLife, Fire, and Water

With the Rise of the Commons, we are limited of choosing only Commons and Rare monsters to build our lineup. I chose Water Splinter cause I have a good line-up even with only Commons and Rare monsters.

Kelya Frendul provides additional armor and speed to friendly monsters. My opponent uses the same Summoner but only level 1 compare to my level 4.
Diemonshark has the Trample and Enrage ability at level 4. Enrage increases its melee damage and speed when it received damage to its HP. It also has high armor and damage which is good for a killer tank.
Flying Squiad is a melee monster with Reach ability. It can attack even on the 2nd position because of the Reach ability.
Deeplurker has a high melee attack with Opportunity ability. It was the finisher for this match. The Diemonshark + Flying Squid + Deeplurker combo from the Water Splinter is one of the meta line-up right now.
Isgald Vorst, our Gladius for this match, is a melee monster with Opportunity ability as well. Combined with Deeplurker, they are the finisher as they attack monsters with the lowest health.
Angelic Mandarin is a ranged monster with Triage ability. I selected this one for healing the backline incase my opponent goes for the Sneak or Snipe abilities.
Speed Runner provides the Speed buff to our monsters. For this match, Supply Runner provides additional Speed that we need for us to attack first.

This is the end of my post analyis. Hopefully, you got something reading this post.
This was a bit short since normally I played with 9 matches in lower frays.

I'm enjoying this new Chaos Legion format since most of my cards are from Chaos Legions.

Till next time!!!
