Greetings to all the hivers who daily make life in this community of silver bloggers. I found the contest proposed for this month interesting and attractive, since we all have special moments that we remember many times through a song. At various stages of life, you mature and see moments from another perspective, to the point of relating them in your memory with a musical theme of the time. This is an interesting exercise for the mind. So without further ado, here I let you know which songs from different stages of my life are special and memorable.

I remember from the 80's, the song that was a boom: "Africa" by the American band Toto. Although at that time I did not have translation tools nor was I very proficient with the English language, I loved listening to it. I still remember it as part of the set of songs of the time, called here in Venezuela as chatarritas. I even enjoyed watching the concert of the band, with the members already in their fifties, singing that hit song, of which you can see the spectators participating and singing along at the top of their voices... hahahahaha. Surely you have seen the official video of this song, but maybe you have not seen when they sing in this concert, I leave you the link, so you can see it on you tube.

I also bring back very special memories, the songs of Madona, Cindy Lauper, Banda Police, Karina, Frank Quintero, Ilan Chester, Luis Miguel, among many others. About the latter, in my adolescence I identified myself with some songs, for example "PALABRA DE HONOR", that was like the closer of any imaginary, platonic or real relationship, of the disappointment or breakup of a friendship relationship with a girl I felt attracted to. I think when we all go through adolescence, we are all in an uproar to get someone to spend time with to love and feel loved.

Then in the 90's, I was already listening to more music groups, this time the American group backstreet Boys and their hits "I WANT IT THAT WAI". I even remember it so much because it was my wife's favorite group. Hehehehehehe. Other songs I listened to a lot were Latin artists like Cristian Castro, Chayanne, Shakira, Luis Fonsi, the Mexican group Maná with hits like: "RAYANDO EL SOL", and "DE LOS PIES A LA CABEZA".

In the 2000s, the range of artists and singers continued to increase, for example two songs in particular that I liked was the British Dido, her hit "DON'T LEAVE HOME", and the also British Sting and his hit "DESERT ROSE". For that decade we acquired a new vehicle, taken out of the agency, and the audio player was CD, so it was my first vehicle with that sound system and to premiere it and make the return home, about 600 kilometers of roads, we went to the store to buy the cd's of these two artists. What a nice feeling, while listening to those hits while traveling, enjoying the comfort of the car and at the same time the scenery of the road, until we got home. So every time my wife and I listen particularly to the songs of these two albums, the memory of that decade comes to mind, where we traveled for the first time with our vehicle and enjoyed many more tours within our country.

Then in the 2010s, I was listening more to songs of known artists and their new interpretations, even now listening to their unplugged concerts, which are on another level. I enjoy the show, whenever I can watch it on videos on the internet. I particularly started listening to the songs of Yanni and his guests. In one of his concerts, in Acapulco, Mexico I was very happy to see Cristian Castro performing the song "NI LA FUERZA DEL DESTINO", also Lucero with him performing the song "ETERNO ES ESTE AMOR", and finally José José performing "VOLVER A CREER", among other singers. And although these are unpublished songs, perhaps not very commercial, I got to the bottom of my feelings listening to them, particularly the one interpreted by José José José, since he was facing an illness that led him to death.

This last song is memorable for me, because it made me see what could be one of the most important things in life. It was timely because, although I was inside the country and with my dear wife doing social and volunteer work, we were both far away from the rest of our beloved family, parents, siblings, little nieces, and that made me think a lot about them. Part of the lyrics of the song reads:

"The world is the way it is.
The most beautiful thing is what you never see
It's not what you have it's what you give
The simplest thing is what's worth the most
The sun will always rise
And the moon will keep on making us fall in love"
...

Still this song gives me a lot of feeling and has contributed to make me more simple, kind and grateful to my Creator, to my dear family and friends. It is also a reminder that I must take advantage of the occasions to hug them, tell them how much I love them and ignore the defects and offenses that may arise, our time in this world is very short and does not give to carry and correct all those negative things.

Finally, more recent in this decade full of difficulties, who hasn't cried with the song "YA PASARÁ" by Mexican Carlos Rivera. I still have to control myself a lot not to cry wherever I hear it, because I relate it to episodes in my life, before the pandemic that affected my health and well being. Then came the pandemic, which has left as a result, sadness, absences, drastic life changes, not only for me but for everyone in general, so this song although it makes me sad, it helps me to focus on the hope that soon all this will pass and we will start again... stronger.

Well my dear friends, for me it has been profitable to make this article, it was an emotional therapy, going through episodes of my life with some songs that bring me bittersweet memories. Also these songs help me to continue living with hope and being grateful for the good things that I can still enjoy, such as: having a friendship with the creator, a wife that makes me feel loved, family and friends that make a good team that make me see and remember the beautiful things in life. Saludos a todos los hivers que a diario hacen vida en esta comunidad de silver bloggers. Me pareció interesante y atractivo el concurso propuesto para este mes, ya que todos tenemos momentos especiales que recordamos muchas veces a través de una canción. En diversas etapas de la vida, se madura y se ven desde otra perspectiva los momentos, al punto de relacionarlos en tu memoria con un tema musical de la época. Esto es un interesante ejercicio para la mente. Por esto sin más, aquí les dejo saber que temas de diferentes etapas de mi vida son especiales y memorables.

Recuerdo de la década de los 80, la canción que fué un boom: “Africa” de la banda Estadounidense Toto. Aunque en esa época no contaba con herramientas de traducción ni estaba muy diestro con el idioma inglés, me encantaba escucharla. Todavía la recuerdo como parte del conjunto de canciones de la época, llamadas aquí en Venezuela como chatarritas. Incluso disfruté ver el concierto de la banda, ya con los integrantes como de cincuenta años de edad, cantando ese exitazo de tema, del que se ven a los espectadores participando y cantando a toda voz… jajajaja. Seguro que han visto el video oficial de esta canción, pero quizás no han visto cuando cantan en este concierto, allí les dejo el enlace, para que lo puedan ver por you tube.

También me traen recuerdos muy especiales, las canciones de Madona, Cindy Loper, Banda Police, Karina, Frank Quintero, Ilan Chester, Luis Miguel, entre muchos otros. Acerca de este último, en mi tiempo de adolescencia me identificaba con algunas canciones, por ejemplo la de “PALABRA DE HONOR”, ese era como el cerrador de cualquier relación imaginaria, platónica o real, de la decepción o ruptura de una relación de amistad con una chica del que me sentía atraído. Creo que todos cuando pasamos por la adolescencia, andamos alborotados por conseguir a alguien con quien pasar el tiempo para querer y sentirse querido.

Luego en la década de los 90, ya escuchaba más grupos musicales, esta vez el del grupo estadounidense backstreet Boys y sus éxitos “I WANT IT THAT WAI”. Incluso lo recuerdo tanto porque era el grupo preferido de mi esposa. Jejejeje. Otras canciones que escuchaba mucho eran los artistas latinos como Cristian Castro, Chayanne, Shakira, Luis Fonsi, el grupo mexicano Maná con éxitos como: “RAYANDO EL SOL”, y “DE LOS PIES A LA CABEZA”.

En la década del 2000, siguieron aumentando la gama de artistas y cantantes, por ejemplo dos canciones en particular que me gustaron fue, de la británica Dido, su éxito “DON´T LEAVE HOME”, y del también británico Sting y su éxito “DESERT ROSE”. Para esa década adquirimos un vehículo nuevo, sacado de la agencia, y el reproductor de audio era de CD, así que fue mi primer vehículo con ese sistema de sonido y para estrenarlo y realizar el retorno a casa, unos 600 kilómetros de carreteras, fuimos a la tienda a comprar los cd de estos dos artistas. Que sensación tan agradable, mientras escuchamos esos éxitos mientras viajamos, disfrutando del confort del auto y a la vez del paisaje de la vía, hasta llegar a casa. Así que cada vez que mi esposa y yo escuchamos particularmente las canciones de estos dos álbumes, se nos viene a la mente el recuerdo de esa década, donde viajamos por primera vez con nuestro vehículo y disfrutamos de muchos recorridos más dentro de nuestro país.

Luego en la década del 2010, yo escuchaba más canciones de artistas conocidos y sus nuevas interpretaciones, incluso, ahora escuchando sus conciertos en unplugged, que son de otro nivel. Disfruto el espectáculo, siempre que puedo verlo en videos por internet. Particularmente empecé a escuchar las canciones de Yanni y sus invitados. En uno de sus conciertos, en acapulco, México me dio gusto como Cristian Castro interpretó la canción “NI LA FUERZA DEL DESTINO”, también Lucero junto a él interpretando la canción “ETERNO ES ESTE AMOR”, y por ultimo José José interpretando “VOLVER A CREER”, entre otros cantantes. Y aunque estas son canciones inéditas, tal vez no muy comerciales, me llegaron al fondo de mis sentimientos escucharlas, particularmente la que interpretó José José, tratándose que estaba afrontando una enfermedad, que lo condujo a la muerte.

Es memorable para mí, esta última canción que les digo, porque me hizo ver qué pudiera ser una de las cosas más importante en la vida. Fue oportuno pues, aunque estaba dentro del País y con mi querida esposa haciendo una labor social y voluntaria, estábamos los dos lejos del resto de nuestra querida familia, padres, hermanos, sobrinas pequeñitas, y eso me hizo pensar mucho en ellos. Parte de la letra de la canción dice:

“El mundo es como es
Lo más hermoso es lo que nunca ves
No es lo que tienes es lo que das
Lo más simple es lo que vale mas
El sol siempre saldrá
Y la luna va a seguir enamorándonos”
…

Todavía esta canción me da mucho sentimiento y ha contribuido a que sea más sencillo, amable y agradecido con mi Creador, con mis queridos familiares y amigos. También es un recuerdo de que debo aprovechar las ocasiones para abrazarlos, decirles cuanto los quiero y no hacerle caso a los defectos y ofensas que puedan surgir, nuestro tiempo en este mundo es muy corto y no da para cargar y corregir todas esas cosas negativas.

Finalmente, más reciente en esta década llena de dificultades, quien no ha llorado con la canción “YA PASARÁ” del Mexicano Carlos Rivera. Todavía tengo que controlarme mucho para no llorar donde sea que la escucho, pues la relaciono con episodios de mi vida, antes de la pandemia que afectaron mi salud y mi bienestar. Después vino la pandemia, que ha dejado como resultado, tristeza, ausencias, cambios drásticos de vida, no solo para mí sino para todos en general, entonces esta canción aunque me produce tristeza, me ayuda a enfocarme en la esperanza que pronto todo esto pasará y volveremos a empezar… más fuertes.

Bueno mi estimados amigos, para mí ha sido provechoso realizar este artículo, fué una terapia emocional, recorriendo episodios de mi vida con algunas canciones que me traen recuerdos agridulce. También estos temas que me ayudan a seguir viviendo con esperanza y siendo agradecido por las cosas buenas que todavía puedo disfrutar, como: tener una amistad con el creador, una esposa que me hace sentir querido, familiares y amigos que hacen un buen equipo que me hacen ver y recordar las cosas bonitas de la vida.
