Entre los grandes maestros del arte de la pintura y el grabado japonés se encuentra Hokusai, fallecido el 10 de mayo de 1849. Fue un cultivador de la técnica del grabado llamada “Ukiyo-e”, cuya traducción literal sería “pintura del mundo flotante”, que consiste en grabado en madera, desarrollado entre los siglos XVII y XX. Como se indica en la referencia indicada, comporta “la idea de felicidad derivada de la realización de que el mundo es efímero, fugaz o transitorio”.

Among the great masters of the art of Japanese painting and engraving is Hokusai, who died on May 10, 1849. He was a cultivator of the engraving technique called "Ukiyo-e", whose literal translation would be "painting of the floating world", which consists of wood engraving, developed between the seventeenth and twentieth centuries. As indicated in the indicated reference, it entails "the idea of happiness derived from the realization that the world is ephemeral, fleeting or transitory".

Hokusai fue pintor de paisajes terrestres, como los del monte Fuji, y marinos, manifestados magistralmente en su serie de la ola de Katanaga, de sus obras muy conocidas. Pero también pintó escenas de marcado contenido sexual y erótico, que, de estar interesado, podría visitar en este enlace.

En un post publicado en 2021 le hice un breve homenaje (ver aquí). Esta vez quiero, a partir de tres grabados de flores, en los que se destacó particularmente, mostrar mi afecto a su obra con tres ejercicios al modo del haiku.

Hokusai was a painter of land landscapes, such as those of Mount Fuji, and seascapes, masterfully manifested in his series of the Katanaga wave, one of his best known works. But he also painted scenes of marked sexual and erotic content, which, if interested, you could visit at this link.
