The discovery was made in April 2021, these things in astronomy go slowly and a lot of data has to be confirmed, at the moment the temporary name is 2021GG40, although Miguel Rojas could give it another name that must be approved at the end by the astronomical union international when more data on the orbital characteristics and size of this asteroid are discovered.

This is the accreditation they have been given, not everyone manages to discover an asteroid and it is really very nice to see that such young people are so passionate about astronomy, this discovery was achieved by Miguel through the C1-130 orbit program that is dedicated to early identification, diagnosis, tutoring, and specialized comprehensive assistance for children and youth with high abilities, high performance, and giftedness.

This organization was the one that invited Miguel to participate through the international astronomical search campaign, a campaign sponsored by NASA and which basically consists of searching the images taken by the Pan-STARRS telescope, which belongs to the University of Hawaii. look for things that are out of the ordinary and that could be precisely asteroids for example.

The search for asteroids requires of a lot of citizen scientists, it is a great experience. I participated once in a campaign, but sadly I could not find anything.
If any of you wants to give it a try, you can subscribe in the link below, many eyes are needed to catch more asteriods!

That is correct, there are not many eyes looking up, that could change when an event occurs and people take notice, thanks for the link.
