Un verdadero Amigo! || A true Friend!
Here we have a mixture of emotions; it speaks to us of love in its highest expression. It speaks of sacrifice. This doesn't just mean saying "I love you" or "I'm here for whatever you need." It means showing love with actions, even losing the most important thing, absolutely everything we have.
Jesus not only said it, he taught it; he himself lived it, giving his life for those who didn't even consider themselves friends. Jesus gave his life for all humanity, even for those who rejected him and would reject him in the future. Jesus' demonstration has no conditions.
Perhaps this isn't literally how our lives unfold, but if we can give our time, our attention, and our energy, we can be that friend who forgives when the other person is wrong, that friend who endures through difficult times and doesn't abandon them when there's difficulty, that friend who loves with actions and not just words.
Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13

Aquí tenemos una mezcla de emociones, nos habla del amor en su máxima expresión. Habla del sacrificio. Esto no significa solamente decir te quiero o estoy para lo que necesites. Demostrar el amor con hechos incluso perder lo más importante absolutamente todo lo que tenemos.
Jesús no solamente lo dijo, lo enseñó, él mismo lo vivió dando su vida por aquellos que ni siquiera se consideraban amigos, Jesús entregó su vida por toda la humanidad aún por aquellos que lo rechazaron y lo rechazaría en el futuro, la muestra de Jesús no tiene condición.
Quizás esto no sea literalmente como sucede nuestra vida pero si podemos dar nuestro tiempo, nuestra atención y nuestra energía, podemos ser nosotros ese amigo que perdona cuando la otra persona está en falta, ser ese amigo que aguanta con la persona en los momentos difíciles y no abandona cuando hay dificultad, ser un amigo que ama con hechos y no sólo con palabras.
Nadie tiene mayor amor que este, que uno ponga su vida por sus amigos.
