Sufrimos por la justicia. -- We suffer for justice.

If there is one of the most complex or difficult beatitudes to understand, it is this one: How can people be happy while suffering?

This suffering Jesus speaks of is not just any suffering; it is suffering for doing what is right, what is just. We can be sure that we will upset many when we choose the path of faith, truth, and justice.

All of this brings criticism, rejection, ridicule, and often the loss of great opportunities. Jesus also reassures us, making it clear that all of this is worth it. Jesus leaves us a very clear promise. He does not say, "Someday you will have it," but rather, "It is already yours," when we are experiencing this type of suffering for remaining faithful to God and being recognized as heavenly citizens.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Si hay unas de las bienaventuranzas mas complejas o difíciles de entender es esta: ¿Cómo es que las personas pueden ser feliz mientras sufren?.

Este sufrimiento del que habla Jesús no es cualquier sufrimiento, es un sufrimiento por hacer lo correcto, lo justo. Tengamos por seguro que que incomodaremos a muchos cuando elegimos el camino de la fe, de la verdad y la justicia.

Todo esto trae críticas, rechazos, burlas y en muchas ocasiones pérdidas de grandes oportunidades, igualmente Jesucristo nos infunde tranquilizas dejando bien claro que todo esto vale la pena. Jesus nos deja una promesa bien clara, NO dice: "En algun momento lo tendrán", Jesus dice: "Ya es de ustedes", cuando estamos viviendo este tipo de sufrimiento por mantenernos fiel a Dios y somos reconocidos como ciudadanos celestiales.

Bienaventurados los que padecen persecución por causa de la justicia, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos
