Elegimos creer -- We choose to believe

Today, we see in this text a call to faith that clearly transcends all that is known, visible, and tangible. In this painting, we see that Thomas needed to see in order to believe, and Jesus allowed him to do so, with patience and, above all, with great love. Jesus immediately puts a parenthesis on a much deeper truth that says: "True happiness is in believing without seeing."
Generally, we want to have everything under control, a totally structured and orderly life, so we can see the results before making decisions, have the answer to every situation, and find absolute certainty about everything. Who hasn't imagined this? But this goes against how faith would work, since it is the certainty of what is expected, not a written contract with visible guarantees. Faith is a deep trust that God is present at all times, even if we don't see Him.
Let us understand that in this picture, Jesus did not mistreat, get angry, or condemn Thomas for the doubt he had at the time, but we can see that he encourages all of us who have believed in him without having seen him physically. This is the faith that transforms us and guides us every step of the way.
Let us trust even in the midst of uncertainty, let us move forward even when everything is not clear, let us hope and hold fast not only to the promise of God, but to the evidence, we obtain by believing.
"Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen, and yet have believed."
John 20:29
God bless you today and always!!!!
Juan 20:29
