And God gives us a promise that fills us with security. Imagine that a great challenge is presented to you and you are afraid of not being able to move forward, and then someone appears and says to you: "Calm down, God has already crossed this path before you, and He knows it, and He is by your side every step of the way."

This is something similar to what Moses said to Joshua when Joshua's job was to lead the people. He told him that he would not be alone in the land because God's presence was his guarantee and would be with him all the days of his life. And here we must keep in mind that God repeats it: I will not leave you nor forsake you. These are two ways of saying the same word with the same meaning. God wanted to make it clear to Joshua that He would not abandon him if He did not do so in the good times, much less in the worst.

Here we have a practical application of God's word: when we have to face something great or good, or go through a change in our lives, we must know that God already knows and is by our side every step of the way. It's natural to feel fear in the face of new things, but that's not combated with strength, but with trust in God. It's not about whether we are enough, but rather about placing all our trust in God, that He is enough.

The Lord goes before you; he will be with you; he will not fail you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.

Deuteronomy 31:8

Y Dios nos regala una promesa que nos llena de seguridad. Imagínate que se te presenta un gran desafío y tenés miedo de no poder avanzar, en ese momento aparece alguien que te dice: "tranquilo, Dios ya cruzó este camino antes que vos y él lo conoce además está a cada paso a tu lado".

Es algo así lo que Moisés le decía en un momento a Josué cuando el trabajo de Josué era liderar al pueblo, le dijo que no estaría solo en la tierra porque la presencia de Dios era su garantía y estaría con él todos los días de su vida. Y acá debemos tener en cuenta que Dios lo repite: no te dejaré ni te desampararé. Éstas son dos forma de decir la misma palabra con el mismo sentido, Dios le quería dejar bien en claro a Josué que no lo abandonaría si no lo haría en los momentos buenos mucho menos en los peores momentos.

Aquí tenemos una aplicación práctica de la palabra de Dios que cuando tenemos que encarar algo grande o bien, atravesamos un cambio en nuestra vida, debemos saber que Dios ya lo conoce y él está en cada paso de nuestro lado. Es natural sentir miedo ante lo nuevo pero eso no se combate con fuerza sino con confianza en Dios, no se trata de qué nosotros seamos suficiente sino que pongamos toda nuestra confianza en Dios que él si es suficiente.
