#39: Wednesday walk - Somewhere in Idoro road, Uyo Local Government airea

Early this morning, I got a call from my project supervisor to come over to his place. While on my way to the place, rain dealt with me seriously to the extent that I boarded a taxi for a distance that was less than a few miles.
The place is located at Idoro road, Uyo local government area in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.

Before then, while I was walking down to his place, I took some shots to save them in my blog for memories sake. I passed by the drainage system that was commissioned yesterday by my state governor. This drainage has helped reduce flooding in my state but is limited to some areas.

Places like this don't benefit from it because there's no gutter channeling the water to the drainage. So the water stays stagnant and affects the residents. This place is more like a village because it is so quiet and people are fewer in number.

Aside from the fact that the place is calm, I could breathe in fresh air because there are lots of plants growing in that vicinity. This is where primary productions are made before getting to the end users in the city.

Still on my walk, I noticed the gutters were blocked and this resulted in flooding in the area.

The roads were very rugged because the flooding had worn out some ground surfaces leading to gully.

Some houses were built with mud; making me affirm that it is a rural area I visited.

Finally I got to my supervisor's house and achieved what he assigned me to do.

a good idea to take a taxi and get out of the rain

Lets hope they can extend more of the drainage system and prevent more flooding

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Thank you very much @tattoodjay for stopping by.
Yay! I guess the government is aware, so they'll hopefully work on it.

Such a great 👍 experience ☺️
