As we speak the Bitcoin and Ethereum searches are on their highest levels since early 2018 and the hype is once back again. Seeing this one can only question himself...

I think that you could have easily shared some of your thoughts. Then there would also be something to read. :D

But to answer your question: Yes. And I think this can be deduced from past days. Nowadays people inform themselves on the internet, mainly with the help of Google's search engine and information always comes (at least this should be) before buying.

So it is only logical that the trend results more or less represent a direct course of the share price and can be used as an indicator.

The trend is there at least on search engines and some say that it is correlated with the price. I would agree with that, but I would rather be also impartial as I cannot both ask the question and in the same give the response as this wouldn't facilitate communication.

Indeed those are correlated but not sure about the proportion. One could look also to the commits each project has on Git, now whether that is translated into the price or not it is another story.
