Título en español: "HISTORIAS ROBADAS" - MONOMAD - 13NOV22

Hello to all dear #HIVE friends!... Here are my stolen stories again.... Although maybe they're not as "stolen" as this used to be, because lately some people have got so used to seeing me with a camera, then they usually stop me and talk to me about their lives, about anecdotes from the village, whatever... The truth is, this makes it much easier to take a picture of them without having to steal them... But don't worry, I'm a "stealth freak" 😜, so I'll keep stealing anyway!...😎

"Pedro"... This is "Pedro Hernández", I have known him since I was a little boy starting secondary school, as I used to study with his nephew and I often saw him at his house... Pedro is a worker who has survived the debacle of the local economy and is still working the land and making small freights to others... The day I took this portrait I was talking to Pedro for almost an hour in the street in front of his house.... Our conversation revolved around what the village used to be like and all that has changed...

"Pedro"...

"Elio".... This is Elio, better known as "El Vespa" (because of a Vespa motorbike he used to drive when he was young)... I have already posted pictures of Elio in other publications, but Elio is something like "100% photographable" 😂... So today I'm sharing this image of him standing waving in front of his blacksmith shop...

"Elio"....

_DSC7128.jpg

"Floriano's workshop"... This chaotic car mechanic workshop belongs to my friend Floriano Gregorini, and before that it belonged to his father, who came to Venezuela during WWII, as he was a mechanic in the Italian military aviation, but apparently he did not agree with the fascist ideas of Mussolini's time... That's why he came with his family to Venezuela... I, as a child, played with impunity in this workshop, because my father always brought me to visit Floriano's father.

"Sir, please, a picture for us".... I love this, I love it when it happens to me... It almost makes me want to cry, because something in me is moved when the children ask me for photos.... That's the good thing about being "Mr. Camera Crazy"... Thank God for these moments!...😍

"Sad spaces"... In some houses the deterioration is too palpable to go unnoticed, it makes for a photo, but it also makes you think a lot about the reality of some people.

"Espacios tristes"...

"Mr Diego and Ricardo"... Generational gaps are not something that affect friendships here in this town... This picture shows my good friend Mr. Diego Pinto and Ricardo Golaszewski, better known as "The Polish" because his parents and grandparents were born in Poland and migrated to Venezuela in the first half of the last century.

_JLP2106.jpg

"Nicolás and Alí"... I've known Nicolás (on the left side) since we were kids... And to Alí, I've seen him for years but I spoke whit him for first time the day I took this picture of both of them on a street corner... They are simple people, uncomplicated people, it is easy to stop and talk to them, also to take this kind of photos.

_JLP1834.jpg

"The boy and his grandmother"... This is a simple photo, but it's a nice photo to make... It brings back memories of my childhood, when my maternal grandmother used to take me for an early morning walk in the streets of the village... Since then I learnt to "love" the fog in the streets...

_JLP1120.jpg

"The man and his tool"... In the distance I look at this man in his work clothes, carrying a hoe over his shoulder... An image that seems to me a thousand times repeated over time...

_JLP0877.jpg

"On the way to school"... Despite the decline of the local population, even the streets near the schools offer a greater sense of life in the early hours... This is an image of a mother taking her daughter to a public school at around 7AM.

Then, these are my stories and photos for today.... And, as usual, they are my entry to today's #monomad challenge, this lovely space of monochromatic magic we have here at #Hive.

Thank you all so much for stopping by, for reading, for appreciating and for sharing.... We'll see you soon again with more black and white and more history...
