LOGIC CARDS MACROS || Anecdotes and technical facts. || ENG-ESP || (24 PICS)
Back in the mid-1980s and I was studying the intermediate semesters of Systems Technology when I was just a young boy of 18 years old... There was a day in the middle of electronics practice when I commented aloud that printed circuit boards looked like small futuristic cities when viewed through the magnifying glass.
That day all my classmates (all a few years older than me) were silent when they heard my exclamation and after few seconds they burst out laughing with delight and one or the other even went so far as to bully me by saying that I was a snot-nosed brat with a silly mind.
Obviously, I was much younger than them, but I was born and raised in a tough town (the same one where I still live) and despite my young age my answers were sharp enough to make the taunts stop almost immediately... So I immediately told them all to go to hell without being too restrained in my words, despite the teacher's earnest plea for calm.
It was one of many similar events, but I was never really affected by such things, but today it came to mind just as I was rummaging through some old boxes in my junk storage and came across several damaged logic cards from damaged personal computers and laptops.
And gee, it occurred to me to photograph some of those old cards with my camera so I could observe them as I dreamed of doing more than three decades ago!...
These are then the pictures I took of several of those cards... These photos were taken with my Nikon D7000 camera and my Tokina 100mm Macro lens.
As I tend to do almost every time I want to capture a series of images in a fixed location, I first do some tests until I get one or two "winning combinations of parameters" to make them avoiding too many changes along the session. This time I used ISO 640, Flash -1.3, Shutter speed 1/320s and lens aperture at F/10. This was enough to get sufficiently exposed photos and to have room for manoeuvre later when processing the RAW.
The RAWs, by the way, were processed with Adobe Camera RAW where I adjusted light, contrast, clarity and sharpness. Temperature balances and other minor adjustments were done with Photoscape CS6, watermarks, horizon balances, size changes and rotations and minor cropping were done with PhotoScape 3.6.1.

This is my trusty old Nikon D7000 with her "occasional boyfriend" Tokina 100mm.... We've been together for over a decade now and it looks like we can go on for quite a while longer.

As an old computer repair / assembler guy i also have that kind of old stuff lying arround , including hard drives and floppy drives .
🤣 last week i started to do some shots with 2.5 magnification but the narrow depth of field kind of spoils it .
Thanks for commenting... Those old parts are interesting to photograph ;-) ... That photo is amazing for the magnification ratio it has... Certainly the depth of field seems to be a bit extreme.
Hiho, @jlinaresp your right. like cities.
i recall seeing odd shape structure in rotterdam, a good friend always shows me pictures. He lives in rotterdam. and i regularly chat with him and everytime he's touring, he always send me pictures.
Thank you very much for your comment and for sharing... Nice photos, they are certainly very interesting structure... ;-)
