My Special Holidays

One of the most exciting events is to celebrate Birthdays. Birthdays are not just a celebration of life; its all about spending time with the family. Birthdays are celebrated in many ways and today, I will show you how happy it is to celebrate life even in the simplest way with the family. What a good way to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with these two lovely youngsters. Children would look forward to seeing the food being displayed on the table, the decors and their friends who were too excited to play the games. Hence, we decided to give them this party and their smiles are priceless!

Lechon, derived from a Spanish word for roasted suckling pig is one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines. The slowly-roasted suckling pig is usually stuffed with lemongrass,tamarind, garlic, onions, and chives, and is then roasted on a large bamboo spit over an open fire. If you’ve ever been to a Filipino party, you most probably have seen a lechon. It just brightens every feast of every household and you’ll be amazed by the taste of its skin.

The most wonderful time of the year… Christmas! It’s the simple things like decorating the Christmas tree, attending Christmas party, wrapping gifts, caroling, and the list could go on… These are all positive reinforcements that children will carry on and then eventually pass onto their children.

All these things can greatly give happiness and happy moments for them to treasure and to reminisce, but it’s important to instill them the true essence of Christmas- the love of God. We teach them the value of sharing blessings and embracing what they have now.

I just find this remarkable when my child still experience tasting these old candies which I had before when I was young. He got these as prizes from his school Christmas Party. And look… the happiest guy on earth when he received his present from his classmate. What a perfect day for him!
