Pink Dino Jumpsuit

Today I drew another version of my avatar Jijisaur. Usually, the dino is in a form of a hat or stuffed toy. Now, it is fully worn in a jumpsuit. ☺️ It is a fresh eye to me to see another version of my avatar. Please, enjoy the process. 😁

Art Process

First I did a rough sketch. Using a different color for the sketch is what I used to because it is easier for me to do the lineart later on. References are really great help especially when it comes to clothing composition. For this one, the jumpsuit is loose and droopy. Naturally, it will have many folds. In the lineart, I modified a little bit of the positioning of the left hand. The head is a little bit tilted, and so are the eyes and nose. It took me a lot of time to do the eyes, actually. 😅

I focused first on the head and hair. The base colors are color-picked from my original avatar Jijisaur. It is my avatar since jumping to blogging platforms, even before joining Hive. I have a blog about where and how I came up with the name of the character, but basically, it is a girl with a dino hat (But @takuri drew it as an axolotl. We had confusion for a minute). 😆

Applying a darker shade of pink for the shadow. I put them on the corners and folds of the clothing. Also, the parts where objects are obstructing the light to the surface such as the face and legs. On another layer clipped to the pink base, I applied another darker shade of pink. I apply this to even most corners.

Final Art

I added a blurry drop shadow just for detail. I was then looking for the perfect corner to put my signature. It is also one of the things I think of after finishing an art. So this time, why not put it as my background since it is my avatar? 😅 Perfect! I think it fits! I just blur a little to show the depth.
