El segundo sábado del mes de junio de cada año, se acostumbra a celebrar la magia de tejer, dicha celebración es realizada en público, es un día muy especial en donde los tejedores de cualquier rincón del mundo buscan espacios públicos para reunirse y tejer.

Este año el encuentro de tejedores para celebrar el día internacional de tejer en público ocurrió el sábado de 10 de junio, como es lo habitual desde hace seis años, asisto a tan maravilloso encuentro.

On the second Saturday of the month of June each year, it is customary to celebrate the magic of knitting. This celebration is held in public. It is a very special day where weavers from any corner of the world look for public spaces to meet and knit.

This year the meeting of weavers to celebrate the international day of knitting in public took place on Saturday, June 10, as has been the custom for six years, I attended such a wonderful meeting.

En el día de tejer en público se puede tejer en cualquier técnica, la idea es disfrutar de la magia del tejido con compañeros amantes del tejido. Es un día en donde se demuestra al mundo entero lo maravilloso de tejer y lo bien que hace tejer.

What do you knit on public knitting day?

On public knitting day you can knit in any technique, the idea is to enjoy the magic of knitting with fellow knitting lovers. It is a day where the whole world is shown how wonderful knitting is and how well knitting is done.

¿Aparte de tejer qué se hace en el día internacional de tejer en público?

Muchas tejedores se organizan para dar talleres, también se exhiben ventas de hilos, trabajos realizados por tejedores. También dan charlas relacionadas al mundo tejeril. Realmente es un espacio en que todo tejedor debe asistir. Y si no eres tejedor también, así podrán experimentar esa maravillosa atmósfera de tejedores juntos disfrutando de un hobbie tan fascinante como es tejer.

Apart from knitting, what do you do on International Public Knitting Day?

Many weavers organize to give workshops, sales of threads and works made by weavers are also exhibited. They also give talks related to the weaving world. It really is a space that every weaver should attend. And if you are not a knitter too, this way you can experience that wonderful atmosphere of knitters together enjoying a hobby as fascinating as knitting.

Aprendiendo macramé en el día internacional de tejer en público

Como les comenté, el día internacional de tejer en público se realizan diversas actividades relacionadas al mundo tejeril, en esta ocasión entre los talleres que había, estaba el taller de macramé, en el cual me apunté inmediatamente. Me gusta el macramé y esa era una buena oportunidad de aprender otros puntos.

Learning macramé on International Public Knitting Day

As I told you, on International Public Knitting Day, various activities related to the knitting world are carried out. On this occasion, among the workshops there was a macramé workshop, which I immediately signed up for. I like macramé and that was a good opportunity to learn other stitches.

Me emocionó mucho cuando me entregaron mi bolsita con todos los materiales para elaborar una pieza en macramé, por más simple que parecía la pieza a tejer, se usarían cuatro puntos, no conocía ninguno de los puntos.

I was very excited when they gave me my bag with all the materials to make a macramé piece, no matter how simple the piece to knit seemed, four stitches would be used, I didn't know any of the stitches.

Este taller de macramé lo dictó una profesora con el apoyo de su esposo, ella explicaba los puntos de manera general y luego se aseguraba que cada uno de los participantes hiciera de manera correcta los puntos.

This macramé workshop was taught by a teacher with the support of her husband. She explained the points in a general way and then made sure that each of the participants did the points correctly.

Cada vuelta de la pieza me la disfruté, no quería que terminara ese momento. Es que cuando estás en un mundo donde todos están en tu sintonía la magia del amor se vuelca en tu corazón, es una experiencia maravillosa.

I enjoyed every turn of the piece, I didn't want that moment to end. The thing is that when you are in a world where everyone is on the same page, the magic of love pours into your heart, it is a wonderful experience.

Luego de una excelente jornada de aprendizaje he completado la realización de una preciosa y sencilla pieza tejida en macramé.

Por cierto, macramé es una técnica de tejido, que consiste en tejer a través de la realización de nudos. Así como en la técnica crochet y en dos agujas tienen diferentes puntos, la técnica macramé nos se escapa de tener sus puntos claramente definidos.

After an excellent day of learning, I have completed the creation of a beautiful and simple piece woven in macramé.

By the way, macramé is a weaving technique, which consists of weaving by making knots. Just as in the crochet technique and two needles they have different points, the macramé technique escapes us from having its points clearly defined.
