Birthday Treat at Kuya J’s Restaurant
Last night, we had a heavy dinner at Kuya J restaurant. We received an invitation to Macoi, one of our closest friends, to celebrate his birthday. When we arrived at the location at around 6:00 p.m., they had already placed an order for food for the entire family. We waited for the dinner to be served for perhaps 30 to 40 minutes. When the waiter served it, we immediately dig in because we were all hungry and we almost forgot to take photos. I was overjoyed when they ordered a baked scallop because I had been craving them so much! The baked scallops had a great flavor and were quite cheesy. We had beef soup, however, I was a little let down by the serving size because it was so small. Nevertheless, the tastes were to my liking. I gave the fried chicken two thumbs-up because the portion is enormous and I adore how crispy it is. We also tried the pork sisig because the kids loved it. It was tasty and had the proper amount of spice. Given that it’s a birthday celebration, Pancit Canton must be served. There was Pancit Palabok as well, but I refrained from trying it because I was already stuffed.
We had halo-halo and leche flan for dessert after our meal. I prefer drinking tea or coffee after a meal rather than sweets, it was a substantial dinner and I was glad they ordered it even if I’m not used to eating desserts. It was wonderful and absolutely ideal to have halo-halo because the weather here is very hot.
How about you guys, how was your night last night? Hope you are all doing fine!
