Saludos querida comunidad de Motherhood, esta semana les traigo un articulo sobre complicaciones en la tensión arterial que se presentaron en estas pasadas dos semanas en nuestro embarazo, este post fue escrito por Abigail y editado por mi persona, espero lo disfruten.

El octavo mes fue un golpe duro para mí. En todo el embarazo se habían encargado que mi dieta fuera baja en sodio, pero en el 7mo mes por un descuido en mis hábitos alimenticios todo se descontroló.

The eighth month was a hard blow for me. Throughout the pregnancy, they had taken care that my diet was low in sodium, but in the 7th month because of an oversight in my eating habits, everything spiraled out of control.

Una tarde sentí pesadez en general. Y le pedí a mi suegra que me tomara la tensión. Ella se mostró tranquila frente a mí y me dijo que la tenía 130 / 84. "La tienes un punto por encima y no has comido nada fuera de lo común" “¿Te preocupa algo?“ me pregunto mi suegra.

Le dije que había estado nerviosa porque le bebé se había movido poco. Trató de tranquilizarme, porque era común que hubiera días en que el bebé se moviera menos que otros. Yo traté de relajarme y seguí con mi día, tomando unas fotos con la barriga.

One afternoon I was feeling heaviness in general. And I asked my mother-in-law to take my blood pressure. She was calm in front of me and told me I had it 130 / 84. "You have it one point above, and you haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary" "Are you worried about anything", my mother-in-law asked me.

I told her I had been nervous because the baby had moved so little. She tried to reassure me because it was common for there to be days when the baby moved less than others. I tried to relax and went about my day, taking some pictures with the belly.

Al llegar Jesús su madre le cuenta lo sucedido y decide tomarme la tensión por segunda vez y los resultados fueron normales. En la noche mi sentido de alarma se despertó cuando me sentí extraña nuevamente. Le pedí a Jesús que me tomara la tensión y en su rostro pude ver que ver que algo no andaba bien.

Esta en 140/90 señaló y rápidamente llamó a mi ginecóloga. Lo primero que hizo la doctora fue preguntar por la dieta. Al ver que Jesús respondía que se había seguido en todo lo posible (recuerden el anterior post, que mencioné los problemas económicos) preguntó si había estado comiendo mucho queso. El respondió afirmativamente y ella me lo prohibió, adelantó nuestra cita y nos instó a estar tranquilos.

In the evening my sense of alarm was awakened when I felt strange again. I asked Jesus to take my blood pressure, in his face, I could see that something was not right.

Seeing that Jesus responded that it had been followed as much as possible (remember the previous post, in which I mentioned the financial problems) she asked if he had been eating a lot of cheese. He answered in the affirmative and she forbade me, moved up our appointment, and urged us to be calm.

Lo peor de todo es nunca he sido fan del queso. En los años mas oscuros de la actual crisis pude pasar meses sin probarlo. Mientras otros lo añoraban, yo permanecía tranquila porque sólo lo considero indispensable en la pizza. En el embarazo en cambio he sido una ratoncita comiendo queso a mis anchas. Un pequeño descuido, convirtió al queso en mi peor enemigo y efectivamente los días que luego pasé sin queso mi tensión mejoró.

The worst part is I've never been a fan of cheese. In the darkest years of the current crisis, I could go months without trying it. While others longed for it, I remained quiet because I only consider it indispensable in pizza. During pregnancy, on the other hand, I have been a mouse eating cheese to my heart's content. A small oversight turned cheese into my worst enemy, and indeed the days I then went without cheese my blood pressure improved.

Cuando fuí a consulta y me tomaron la tensión la tenía nuevamente alta. Por esto me eliminaron la sal y me mandaron antihipertensivos, la doctora ordenó ricota y requesón en sustitución del queso normal. Y así tenía un nuevo régimen alimenticio mas estricto que antes. En otros aspectos la doctora me encontró bien y a la bebé.

La hemoglobina iba aumentando e insistió en que mis defensas debían incrementarse. Me envió al cardiólogo y realizarme otros exámenes para la próxima consulta. Los días fueron pasando y mi tensión se normalizó, no he tenido la necesidad de tomar hipertensivos porque incluso tuvieron que agregarle sal las a las comidas porque sin sal mi tensión es muy baja.

Sólo debo cuidarme, por eso no se deben tomar las dietas a la ligera, especialmente en el embarazo, porque puedes llevarte un susto muy grande.

When I went to the doctor and had my blood pressure taken, it was high again. So they took me off salt and put me on antihypertensives, the doctor ordered ricotta and cottage cheese to replace the normal cheese. And so I had a new, stricter diet than before. In other respects, the doctor found me well and the baby.

My hemoglobin was increasing, and she insisted that my defenses had to be increased. She sent me to the cardiologist and for further tests for the next consultation. The days went b,y and my blood pressure normalized, I have not needed to take hypertensives because they even had to add salt to my meals because without salt my blood pressure is very low.

I just have to take care of myself, that's why diets should not be taken lightly, especially in pregnancy, because you can get a very big scare.

El viaje de cumpleañeros.

En este mes se come mucha torta, al menos aquí en casa: el suegro, mi suegra y yo celebramos nuestra vida en este mes. Fue muy diferente pasar mi cumpleaños embarazada.

Ese día no tuve tantas molestias y a pesar de todo la pasé bien. En momentos así das por hecha tu nueva etapa en la vida, piensas más a futuro.

In this month we eat a lot of cake, at least here at home: the father-in-law, my mother-in-law and I celebrated our life this month. It was very different spending my birthday pregnant.

That day I didn't have so much discomfort, and I still had a good time. At times like this, you take your new stage in life for granted, you think more about future.

Nunca pensé que mi cumpleaños anterior sería una despedida a mi vida de soltera, ahora que cumplí 26 años me encuentro prometida y en la dulce espera de mi bebé. Yo veía esta etapa de mi vida muy lejana; en ese momento no tenía pretendientes, apuraba por graduarme y me sentía muy contenta en mi círculo de amistades.

Pero la vida da tantas vueltas que todo cambió en unos meses. Aquí me encuentro con un hermoso ser moviéndose dentro de mí y mi prometido a mi lado. Estoy más segura que nunca que el destino te encuentra y cuando llega no hay vuelta atrás.

I never thought that my previous birthday would be a farewell to my single life, now that I turned 26 I find myself engaged and in the sweet waiting for my baby. I saw this stage of my life very far away; at the time I had no suitors, I was in a hurry to graduate, and I was very happy in my circle of friends.

But life takes so many turns that everything changed in a few months. Here I find myself with a beautiful being moving inside me and my fiancé to my side. I am more sure than ever that fate finds you and when it comes there is no turning back.
