La Princesa Mononoke es quizá la película mas grafica y seria del estudio Ghibli. Me gusta la mitología en general incluyendo obviamente la Japonesa, y como ya vieron con Parasyte, también soy fan de los mensajes pro-ecología, y a pesar de que aquí hay eso con un claro antagonista, no es un conflicto unilateral donde ''Naturaleza buena, Humanidad mala''
Princess Mononoke is perhaps the most graphic and serious film from Studio Ghibli. El último príncipe Emishi, Ashitaka, salva a su aldea del ataque de un demonio que destruye todo lo viviente con tan solo tocarlo. The last Emishi prince, Ashitaka, saves his village from the attack of a demon that destroys all living things by touching them. Ashitaka consults the village elders suspecting that the wound has passed on the demon's curse. They discover an iron ball in Nago's body and understand that it was the cause of his suffering. The village elder explains that although his wound will spread through his body until he dies.

Podemos explorar las igualmente entendibles motivaciones de cada bando, siendo los humanos de Villa Fierro quienes deforestan el bosque para obtener los recursos para su fundidora para así ganarles a los ataques de samurais invasores; y los dioses del bosque atacan a los humanos por destruir el ecosistema por el cual han luchado desde siempre en mantener en armonía, todo esto con el protagonista y San en medio ambos bandos en busca un acuerdo. La mayoría de películas de Ghibli son de esas que te quedas por lo bellas y bien dirigidas que están, pero a la hora de destacar el guion… bueno… al menos no son malos guiones y tienen bonitos mensajes, pero tampoco algo que destacaría, por lo que hallar un conflicto así de interesante y tomado con madures y pragmatismo esta genial.
We get to explore the equally understandable motivations of each side, with the humans of Villa Fierro deforesting the forest to obtain resources for their smelter in order to beat off attacks from invading samurai; and the forest gods attacking the humans for destroying the ecosystem they've always fought to maintain in harmony, all with the protagonist and San in the middle of both sides looking for a compromise. Most of Ghibli's films are the kind of films that you stay with because of how beautiful and well directed they are, but when it comes to the script... well... at least they are not bad scripts and have nice messages, but not something that would stand out, so finding a conflict this interesting and taken with maturity and pragmatism is great.
