Hace unos días estuve compartiendo con algunos familiares un almuerzo, y me vino a la mente la siguiente reflexión que en seguida quiero desarrollar, la misma trata sobre el grandioso significado que podamos encontrar en el pequeño gran detalle de reunirnos alrededor de una mesa, de manera especial una donde compartimos alguna comida, ya que:

En la mesa nos miramos

Si no fuese por el hecho de que la sociedad de hoy en día nos ha llevado a estar más pendiente de las pantallas de nuestros teléfonos que de los rostros de las personas que tenemos al frente, lo normal en todo reunión alrededor de una mesa - más si es con seres cercanos - es mirarnos las caras, lo cual tiene un significado sumamente valioso, ya que es un principio para poder entablar una sana conversación.

En efecto, la realidad hoy es que poco nos miramos, y las pocas oportunidades que tenemos, como lo es sentarnos alrededor de la mesa, las desperdiciamos porque no estamos atentos o infravaloramos la importancia de estos momentos, donde las relaciones se cultivan, profundizan y, sobre todo, nos permiten experimentar que la vida es más hermosa cuando nos encontramos con los demás, para escucharnos, aconsejarnos o simplemente estar unos al lado del otro con la certeza de que contamos con personas incondicionales alrededor nuestro.

En la mesa compartimos

El almuerzo familiar fue auspiciado por unas primas, y no se imaginan la alegría que tenían por compartir con nosotros y con unos tíos que viven cerca de la casa donde fuimos. Es aquí donde se cumple el dicho de que "hay más alegría en dar que en recibir", todo desde una mesa de comedor, pero en realidad un gesto que va más allá porque cuando una da, también se da nuestra misma persona, en el sentido de compartir desde el corazón y con alegría por la acción realizada.

Una de las notas característica de esta comida es que fue muy completa, puesto que hasta postre tuvimos, así es la vida, sobre todo la que tenemos junto a nuestros familiares, lo ideal es compartir no solo los momentos agrios y salados sino también los dulces, lo cual es como decir "estar en las buenas y en las malas."

No solo compartimos la comida, sino que también el llamado es a compartir muchas más cosas, intangibles, como planes, sueños, metas, logros, y algo muy querido - al menos a nivel personal - como lo son las historias de la familia que se transmiten de generación en generación y que luego de un buen almuerzo son un muy buen digestivo porque nos hacen conectar con nuestras raíces.

Todos somos bienvenidos

Aproximadamente un par de horas después que terminamos nuestro almuerzo, llegó la pareja de una de mis primas, ella le tenía preparado su plato aparte y se sentó junto a nosotros en la mesa, por eso digo que todos son bienvenidos al compartir siempre y cuando haya esa mínima disposición a hacerse parte genuinamente del mismo, porque si no el ambiente se torna pesado y pronto uno se retira del sitio.

De allí que pienso que de un sencillo compartir alrededor de una mesa son muchas las reflexiones y aplicaciones que para nuestras vidas podemos sacar, especialmente cuando consideramos que la misma está envuelta en constantes relaciones, no seamos excluyentes, sino con un corazón abierto a recibir a todo aquel que quiera acercarse, eso lo aprendí de este almuerzo, por eso, rescatemos la mesa, es decir, el valor de permitirnos la experiencia grata de estos momentos.

A few days ago I was sharing lunch with some family members, and the following reflection came to my mind that I want to develop, it is about the great meaning that we can find in the small great detail of gathering around a table, especially one where we share a meal, since:

At the table we look at each other

If it were not for the fact that today's society has led us to be more aware of the screens of our phones than of the faces of the people in front of us, the normal thing in any meeting around a table - especially if it is with close people - is to look at each other's faces, which has an extremely valuable meaning, since it is a principle to be able to engage in a healthy conversation.

In fact, the reality today is that we rarely look at each other, and the few opportunities we have, such as sitting around the table, are wasted because we are not attentive or we underestimate the importance of these moments, where relationships are cultivated, deepened and, above all, allow us to experience that life is more beautiful when we meet with others, to listen to each other, to give advice or simply to be next to each other with the certainty that we have unconditional people around us.

At the table we shared

The family lunch was hosted by some cousins, and you can't imagine how happy they were to share with us and with some uncles and aunts who live near the house where we went. It is here where the saying that "there is more joy in giving than in receiving" is fulfilled, all from a dining table but in reality a gesture that goes beyond because when one gives, one also gives oneself, in the sense of sharing from the heart and with joy for the action done.

One of the characteristic notes of this meal is that it was very complete, since we even had dessert, that's life, especially the one we have with our families, the ideal is to share not only the sour and salty moments but also the sweet ones, which is like saying "to be in good times and bad."

Not only do we share food but also the call is to share many more things, intangibles, such as plans, dreams, goals, achievements, and something very dear - at least on a personal level - as are the family stories that are passed down from generation to generation and that after a good lunch are a very good digestive because they make us connect with our roots.

Everyone is welcome

Approximately a couple of hours after we finished our lunch, the partner of one of my cousins arrived, she had prepared her own plate and sat next to us at the table, that's why I say that everyone is welcome to share as long as there is that minimum willingness to be genuinely part of it, because otherwise the atmosphere becomes heavy and soon one leaves the place.

From there I think that from a simple sharing around a table there are many reflections and applications that we can get for our lives, especially when we consider that it is involved in constant relationships, let us not be exclusive, but with an open heart to welcome anyone who wants to approach, I learned that from this lunch, so let's rescue the table, that is, the value of allowing us the pleasant experience of these moments.
