Anime Review/Opinion: Inazuma Eleven - One of the most important anime for me [ENG-ESP]
Greetings, and welcome to all, anime lovers! 💗
This discovery was incredible for me, it was one of the first times I knew the term “anime” as such. And although at the beginning it was difficult to get used to the new language, because I was used to watching it in Spanish. I quickly adapted, and you could easily see me singing the Openings in Japanese, many times my parents looked at me funny, but I didn't care, I was very happy. It's about the anime: “Inazuma Eleven” in Latin America had the name: “Super Eleven”. I was never a soccer fan... I still am not, but this series was my first contact with this sport. I consider that it managed to elevate the whole essence of soccer, giving it a very epic level. From its first season, the series immerses us in a world where this sport becomes an adventure full of power, drama and touching moments. The first season lays the groundwork for the plot, we are introduced to the Raimon High School soccer team, led by the passionate Endou.
At first there are many adversities that prevent this team from competing, therefore, the club is in danger and will soon be disbanded.... But everything changes when this team of outcasts manages to recruit a star striker: Goenji Shuuya. This season really captivates you, due to its focus on team spirit and perseverance, as Raimon faces incredible opponents in the Football Frontier tournament.

Y es que he decidido compartirles un anime que fue muy importante para mí. Ni siquiera recuerdo la edad en la que comencé a verlo.. Imagino que les pasa igual con series de su infancia, como Dragon Ball o Naruto. Este anime también fue para mí, un pilar en mi infancia.. sin duda lo disfrutaba mucho siendo niño. Recuerdo perfectamente cuando lo transmitían en un canal de televisión llamado: Televen, acá en Venezuela. Y recuerdo lo emocionado que me ponía cada vez que empezaba.. luego mientras fui creciendo mi fanatismo fue aumentando mucho más, y luego descubrí que era un anime.. Y me di a la tarea de buscarlo, y ver las demás temporadas, ya que en la TV solo pasaban la primera temporada.
Este descubrimiento fue increíble para mí, fue de las primeras veces que conocí como tal el término de “anime”. Y aunque al principio fue difícil acostumbrarme al nuevo idioma, porque estaba acostumbrado a verlo en español.. Rápidamente me adapté, y podrías verme fácilmente cantando los Openings en Japonés, muchas veces me miraron raro mis padres, pero no me importaba, era muy feliz. Se trata del anime: “Inazuma Eleven” en Latinoamérica tenía el nombre de: “Super Once”. Yo nunca fui fan del futbol.. sigo sin serlo, pero esta serie fue mi primer contacto con este deporte. Considero que consiguió elevar mucho toda la esencia del futbol, dándole un nivel muy épico. Desde su primera temporada, la serie nos sumerge en un mundo donde este deporte se convierte en una aventura llena de poderes, drama y momentos conmovedores. La primera temporada sienta las bases de la trama, se nos presenta al equipo de fútbol del Instituto Raimon, liderado por el apasionado Endou.
Al principio hay muchas adversidades que impiden a este equipo competir, por lo tanto, el club corre peligro y pronto será disuelto.. Pero todo cambia cuando este equipo de marginados, logra reclutar a un delantero estrella: Goenji Shuuya. Esta temporada te cautiva mucho, debido a su enfoque en el espíritu de equipo y la perseverancia, mientras el Raimon se enfrenta a rivales increíbles en el torneo Football Frontier.
The second season of this series, increases and improves everything of the previous one... our beloved team will have to face new threats that endanger soccer. So it is necessary to undertake a journey throughout Japan, to go recruiting the best players that can be found and form an incredible new team capable of defeating this new organization. This season is very original, we move beyond the simple high school tournament. It is interesting to see how our protagonists face frustrations and challenges that test their physical and mental endurance... something very refreshing to see, I thought it was great that they addressed this in a series that was characterized by being more childish. This season also adds one of my favorite characters: Shirō Fubuki, a player with a rather complex past, but who gives a whole new air to the team, becoming one of the new pillars of the team, giving us incredible moments of emotion and tension.
For the third season, this one steps on more solid ground, giving us something more typical in sports anime, and it's about the “World Cup arc”, this is obviously a plus in the story, rivals, techniques... this is my favorite season... I think it's the one I remember the most, and the one I repeated the most times (Yes, I repeated this series like three times). We will have again a modification of the team, this time Endo will lead the Inazuma Japan, conformed obviously by several known, and other new characters. It's great to see this team facing new and increasingly different opponents, each with their different techniques and unique play style. This season stands out for the great sequences of the matches... which is the most striking thing about this series, and what I liked the most... I always looked forward to the matches. It also delves a lot into the bond that our protagonists have been generating, and how friendship can be so powerful.
DALE CLICK AQUÍ PARA VER LA VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOLLa segunda temporada de esta serie, aumenta y mejora todo lo de la anterior.. nuestro equipo tendrá que enfrentar nuevas amenazas que ponen en peligro el futbol. Por lo que es necesario emprender un viaje por todo Japón, para ir reclutando a los mejores jugadores que se pueden encontrar y formar un increíble nuevo equipo capaz de derrotar a esta nueva organización. Esta temporada es muy original, avanzamos más allá del simple torneo de secundaria.. Es interesante ver como nuestros protagonistas se enfrentan a frustraciones y desafíos que ponen a prueba su resistencia física y mental.. algo muy refrescante de ver, me pareció muy bueno que abordaran esto en una serie que se caracterizaba por ser más infantil. Esta temporada también añade a uno de mis personajes favoritos: Shirō Fubuki, un jugador con un pasado bastante complejo, pero que le da un aire completamente nuevo al equipo, volviéndose uno de los nuevos pilares del equipo, dándonos momentos increíbles de emoción y tensión.
Para la tercera temporada, esta pisa más tierra firme, dándonos algo más típico en los animes de deportes, y se trata del “arco del Mundial”, esto obviamente es un plus en la historia, rivales, técnicas.. esta es mi temporada favorita.. Creo que es la que más recuerdo, y la que más veces repetía. (Sí, me repetí esta serie como tres veces). Tendremos nuevamente una modificación del equipo, esta vez Endo liderará al Inazuma Japón, conformado obviamente por varios conocidos, y otros personajes nuevos. Es genial ver a este equipo ir enfrentando nuevos rivales, cada vez más diferentes, cada uno con sus diferentes técnicas y estilo de juego únicos. Esta temporada destaca por las grandes secuencias de los partidos.. que es lo que más llama la atención de esta serie, y lo que a mí más me gustaba.. siempre esperaba ansioso a que llegara la parte de los partidos. También se profundiza mucho en el vínculo que han ido generando nuestros protagonistas, y como la amistad puede ser tan poderosa.
Among the aspects that I consider that stand out the most in this series, is the great focus on its characters. Endou, the main character, is a born leader who inspires his team in an incredible way! His passion for soccer, and ability to unite everyone around him with just a ball, and a lot of fun, is always enjoyable to watch. Also Goenji, the star striker, is a very charismatic and talented character, he combines perfectly with Endou, giving us that interesting dynamic of companionship and some rivalry, something very typical like in anime like DB, or Naruto. It's their journey together that forges those bonds of friendship, which makes them very human. Also Kidou and Fubuki are excellent characters, one bringing all the intelligence and cunning, showing off as the strategist of the team, and the other with that powerful determination, adding all the support he gives to his teammates.
Even if we move away from the most “relevant” ones, I consider that most of the team has its own charisma, its own unique personality, and motivations, which allows the viewer to become attached to the whole team. Even the rivals or “antagonists” are very memorable, with incredible designs, and complex backgrounds, making them respectable opponents. It's an anime that I'm sure would still be very enjoyable for the little ones, and even not so little ones... with very decent animation for its time, it can certainly provide hours and hours of exciting matches. Among other reasons why I like this series so much, is because it has its own video game franchise. I played them all, these games tell the story of the anime, but you can create your own team, as you wish, and choose which techniques to use, etc. It's very, very fun, the first saga was for the DS. Then it kept expanding to the 3DS, and the Wii.

Endou, el protagonista, es un líder nato que inspira a su equipo de una manera increíble! Su pasión por el futbol, y la capacidad para unir a todos en su entorno solo con una pelota, y muchas ganas de divertirse, siempre es agradable de ver. También Goenji, el delantero estrella, es un personaje muy carismático y talentoso, combina perfectamente con Endou, dándonos esa dinámica interesante de compañerismo y algo de rivalidad, algo muy típico como en animes como DB, o Naruto. Es su camino juntos lo que forjan esos lazos de amistad, que los hace muy humanos. También Kidou y Fubuki son excelentes personajes, uno aportando toda la inteligencia y astucia.. luciéndose como estratega del equipo, y el otro con esa poderosa determinación, sumándole todo el apoyo que brinda a sus compañeros.
Incluso si nos alejamos de los más “relevantes” considero que la gran parte del equipo tiene su propio carisma, su propia personalidad única, y motivaciones, lo que permite que el espectador acabe encariñándose con todo el equipo. Incluso los rivales o “antagonistas” son muy memorables, con increíbles diseños, y trasfondos complejos, que los convierten en oponentes respetables. Es un anime que seguro seguiría siendo muy agradable para los más pequeños, e incluso no tan pequeños.. con una animación muy decente para su época, sin duda puede llegar a brindar horas y horas de emocionantes partidos. Entre otras razones por las cuales me gusta tanto esta serie, es porque tiene su propia franquicia de videojuegos. Yo me los jugué todos, estos juegos relatan la historia del anime, pero tú puedes ir creando tu propio equipo, a tu gusto, e ir eligiendo qué técnicas usar, etc. Es muy, muy divertido, la primera saga fueron para la DS. Luego se siguió expandiendo hacia la 3DS, y la Wii.
What I liked the most when I was a kid, and what attracted my attention the most, making it different from the hundreds of sports anime, were the “Super techniques”. It is clear that it is something impossible in real life, but you feel that touch of fantasy together with realism to see all those incredible techniques, I think I've seen few series where adding “powers” to something simple works so well, it is certainly the best of this anime, as it is not only sport, it also drags and perfects a style similar to the fights, resembling a lot to the “Shonen” or anime fights with powers. From fire shots, ice... Powerful blocking techniques to stop all the impressive shots... This gives rise to something “typical” to become something much more epic. Every time a member of the team learns new techniques, it becomes an exciting and cool moment, symbolizing the growth and development of the character.
The soundtrack, and the Openings are characterized by being catchy and very energetic, with lyrics dedicated mainly to team support, and of course, friendship. I have each one of these Openings engraved in my memory very well haha, just like Naruto's, when I listen to them, it's as if I was transported back to that time where everything was simpler... the nostalgia that invades me is indescribable, and I see myself singing them just as I did in my childhood.
DALE CLICK AQUÍ PARA VER LA VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOLLo que más me gustaba de pequeño, y lo que más llamaba la atención, haciéndolo diferente a los cientos de animes de deportes, eran las “Super técnicas”. Es claro que es algo imposible en la vida real, pero se siente ese toque de fantasía juntado con realismo ver todas esas increíbles técnicas, creo que he visto pocas series donde agregarle “poderes” a algo simple funcione tan bien, sin duda es lo mejor de este anime, ya que no es solo deporte, también arrastra y perfecciona un estilo parecido al de las peleas, asemejándolo mucho a los “Shonen” o animes de peleas con poderes. Desde tiros de fuego, hielo.. Poderosas técnicas de bloqueo, para parar todos los impresionantes disparos.. Esto da pie para que algo “típico” se convierta en algo mucho más épico. Cada vez que un miembro del equipo va aprendiendo nuevas técnicas, se convierte en un momento emocionante y genial, que simboliza el crecimiento y desarrollo que va teniendo el personaje.
La banda sonora, y los Openings se caracterizan por ser pegadizos y muy energéticos, con líricas dedicadas principalmente al apoyo de equipo, y claro, a la amistad. Tengo cada uno de estos Openings grabados en mi memoria muy bien jaja, igual que los de Naruto, al escucharlos, es como si me transportara de nuevo a esa época donde todo era más simple.. la nostalgia que me invade es indescriptible, y me ven cantándolos igualmente como lo hacía en mi infancia.
I will always remember this anime, it gave me so many hours, months... of happiness. Its sports plot made me more encouraged to explore sports-focused anime.. and that's how I discovered my favorite anime genre, the Spokon. And so, a series that might seem like a pretty weird TV series, opened some incredible doors for me, to know much more about this world of Japanese animation... Recommend it? Of course I would... Although I know that most people here in Hive are older people, with interests in much more complex plots and stories... and I think that right now, it may be that not many anime lovers would watch an anime like this, unless they are super fans of soccer, and powers.
Currently, many people still love this series, especially I think the fandom in Spain is super wide. Since it was a before and after in their childhood... If you like this kind of stories, with a good overcoming of difficulties, and soccer totally different from the one you are used to, you should give it a chance, or try to give it to the little ones, they will surely end up liking it a lot. Although there are more popular soccer anime like the recent Blue Lock, or the classic Super Champions, this one I think will always be my favorite soccer anime. Both because of the emotional weight it has on me, and obviously the nostalgia. My rating would be a good 9.8/10. Although the nostalgia may be playing up, who knows haha.
DALE CLICK AQUÍ PARA VER LA VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOLEste anime lo recordaré siempre, me dio tantas horas, meses.. de felicidad. Su trama deportiva hizo que me animara más a explorar los animes enfocados en los deportes.. y fue así como descubrí mi género de anime favorito, los Spokon. Y así, una serie que podría parecer bastante equis de la televisión, me abrió unas puertas increíbles, para conocer mucho más de este mundo de la animación japoneasa.. ¿Recomendarlo? Claro que si.. Aunque sé que la mayoría de personas acá en Hive son ya personas más mayores, con intereses en tramas e historias mucho más complejas.. y creo que ahora mismo, puede ser que no muchos amantes del anime se anime a ver un anime como este, a menos que sean superfanáticos del futbol, y de los poderes.
Actualmente, muchas personas siguen amando esta serie, en especial creo que el fandom en España es súper amplio. Ya que fue un antes y un después en sus infancias.. Si lo tuyo son este tipo de historias, con una buena superación de dificultades, y futbol totalmente diferente al que estás acostumbrado, deberías darle una oportunidad, o intentar ponérselo a los más pequeños, seguro terminara gustándoles mucho. Aunque sí que hay más animes de futbol populares como el reciente Blue Lock, o los clásicos Super Campeones, este creo que siempre será mi favorito de futbol. Tanto por el peso emocional que tiene en mí, como por obviamente la nostalgia. Mi calificación sería un buen 9.8/10. Aunque la nostalgia puede estar haciendo de las suyas, quién sabe jaja.
Although this series ends with its third season, a sequel would follow. Called Inazuma Eleven Go, conformed with three more seasons, each one super different from the previous one. And, although I did watch them, and I enjoyed them... I think they didn't reach the incredible level that the original series had... I think they tried so hard to add more and more power scales, that they lost their way a little bit, but as I said, I still watched them, and I would be lying if I said I didn't like them, because I still enjoyed them. And their games... uff, without a doubt the games of the second saga were incredible, they amused and frustrated me a lot haha. Recently, a few years ago, they made a kind of “Reboot” of the whole franchise.
And I didn't feel the same... although I liked some things, I think the essence changed... Also very recently, last year they announced a new game. This time focused on the new consoles, with totally new characters, but keeping all the old ones as well, new story, with the aesthetics of the previous ones... I was really excited about that, because I could imagine playing with Endou and the others once again, after so many years... But I think it will be very unlikely, since it is very difficult to afford a Nintendo Switch or a PlayStation 5 here in Venezuela... but who knows, maybe someday... And well, I think I went on too long haha, I hope you liked this kind of review - histoytime of mine, and I'll see you soon in the next reviews! Take care of yourselves!

Llamada Inazuma Eleven Go, conformada con tres temporadas más, cada una superdiferente a la anterior. Y, aunque si las vi, y las disfrute.. creo que no llegaron al increíble nivel que tuvo la serie original.. Creo que se esforzaron mucho por agregar más y más escalas de poder, que perdieron un poco el camino, pero como les digo, igual me las vi, y mentiría si dijera que no me gustaron, ya que de igual manera las disfrute. Y sus juegos.. uff, sin duda los juegos de la segunda saga fueron increíbles, me divirtieron y frustraron mucho jaja. Recientemente, hace unos poquitos años, hicieron una especie de “Reboot” de toda la franquicia.
Y pues yo no sentía lo mismo.. aunque algunas cosas me gustaron, creo que la esencia cambio.. También muy recientemente, el año pasado anunciaron un nuevo juego. Esta vez enfocado en las nuevas consolas, con personajes totalmente nuevos, pero conservando todos los antiguos también, historia nueva, con la estética de los anteriores.. Eso a mí sí que me emociono, ya que me imagine jugar con Endou y los demás una vez más, después de tantos años.. Pero creo que será muy poco probable, puesto que costearse una Nintendo Switch o una PlayStation 5 aquí en Venezuela es algo difícil.. pero quién sabe, capaz algún día.. Y bueno, creo que me extendí bastante jaja. ¡Espero esta especie de reseña – histoytime mío, les haya gustado mucho, y pues nos veremos próximamente en las próximas reseñas! Cuídense mucho!!

Hola Jesús. La verdad verdadera es que acompañé a mis hijos a ver muchísimos animes, pero no sé de nombres ni personajes, mi intención era acompañarlos nada más jejeje. Si me acordé de una que se llamaba Súper campeones o algo así. Todas las tardes la veíamos.

This is definitely something like Captain Tsubasa or Super Champions on this side of the pond. My childhood revolved around this series and from what I read this one is very similar both in plot and in the famous techniques at the time of the games. I feel that if I watch it I will compare it too much and I won't enjoy it, that would be the reason why I wouldn't watch it. And well, I'm not saying it's bad, maybe it's even better.

You really did an in-depth and long post on Inazuma Eleven. I can feel how you really enjoyed the anime as a kid. Although, I love Shinsuke and enjoyed Inazuma Eleven Go, I agree when you said the first batch was still another level. Endou is such a likeable character. Every episode was an adventure... and I like how the previous rivals eventually became a formidable ally. It's just so awesome and heartwarming...
When you mentioned the World Cup arc, I remember Japan playing against Ichinose and Domon... From teammates to rivals, but that game was so exciting!!! I have to watch it again! hahaha
Wow!! What memories, truly a gem of anime.
I also loved this anime a lot, the matches, the powers and how they evolved, I really liked it and tell me when they added more and more powers, the visual effect was extremely exciting and truly good times, thank you for making me remember such a good anime, I even remember it now. they wanted to come backlet's see.
