We like to think of ourselves as independent beings who create their own beliefs, ways of acting, and results. However, although this is partially true, the reality is that most of our actions are guided by groups.

Whether it is family, a group of friends or your work environment, those people who surround you and who you consider friends will be the ones who will shape your ideas and thoughts.

You see, if for example you are part of a group that values the excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages or food with disastrous results for you, it is most likely that no matter how much you try to eat healthier, you will end up succumbing to the desires of the group and you will return to that beer and McDonalds menu.

However, if you want to be a better person with a group that leaves a lot to be desired, the cure, while simple, is not easy:

Change your group of friends.

There will be many doubts regarding your loyalty, which will make you feel guilty. However, if you stay with people who will only bring you down, you will hurt the person who should matter most in your life: yourself.

This is why, in order to become a better person, you must select a group that has achieved or is in the process of achieving those things that you want. This because of:

  • They will give you responsibility and remind you when to refocus your steps.
  • They will support you at every milestone and give you valuable advice.
  • They will change your way of thinking to fit that of those who achieve what they want.

That said, I hope you can get those people who will lead you to be the best version of the world.

Thank you very much for your support and good luck!
